True, though I've found a way to refuel my hatred for them and it's the whole Stevie Y GM angle.
I hear what you're saying though and losses to these guys don't sting the way they used to...but beating them is still better than the alternative. - HawkintheD
Tell me something D. What is it about Steve Yzerman that makes you mad? I get not liking a certain team, but Yzerman specifically always seemed to be a guy like Sakic who played hard but not dirty, played in all situations, and from what I've ever seen not an overbearing jerk. If he was someone like Pronger who was always just a tool, I would get it, but people not liking Toews, Yzerman, Bergeron, Kopitar, Sakic, etc always threw me for a loop. |

And so far has had decent rebound control, that always makes the defense look better. - Angotti
Way better. Don't shoot me, but that one point is better then CC also. |

I think part of the Hawks uptick in positioning has to do with getting a few games under their belt when there was no exhibition. New pairs, new roster and compressed camp means they need a little time to work out kinks. Not saying that fixed everything, but we will start to really see more of what the Hawks D are now that they have gotten their feet wet. - breadbag
Its gotta be Mitchell!!! |

I felt the same way about Soderberg. I didn't really notice him much at all, but when I did at least he was playing decent defense. - breadbag
He's 35 years old and wasn't that great to begin with. I'm not sure why there were any expectations for him at all. I like his size of the pk though. |

Yeah, breaking news. As Tyler posted on his Twitter account, this was bound to happen especially with teammates living together.
I'll have thoughts on tomorrow's blog about who should sub in for DeBrincat and Boqvist but I know y'all have your own thoughts too so have at it on the boards. |

Idk Chunk...maybe it was the well deserved reputation as a Hawk Killer and scoring many a goal that crushed a young D's soul.
Maybe it was him captaining the Wings to a Cup, their first in 40 some odd years that then passed the baton of futility on to our beloved Blackhawks.
Or maybe it's been the over the moon love for him here from some posters who marvel at his stellar Cap maneuvering while signing great players who hadn't won anything.
Or maybe I just have issues. |

Just keep repeating to yourself Rodgers has the same number of NFC Championships as Rex Grossman. |

Might sound crazy but would love to see Hagel up with Kane and Suter. Give the kid a shot with offensive players. Then put Highmore back in on the 4th line and leave rest.
Don’t love sitting Wallmark but think Highmore deserves to get back in there.
For Boqvist’s spot, I think Carlsson should be in but wouldn’t be mad if Beaudin got a shot alongside Keith like he did back in May when he played his first ever game.
Would love to see Mitchell get that PP1 spot in Boqvist’s absence.

Not crazy at all. I can see JC putting Shaw up at 1 LW, and put the 3 Swede’s together

The problem for Walmark is that both he and Soderberg are centers. I would venture to guess if Soderberg doesn't really stand out, he will be sat. 35 yr old on a $1M deal... We've seen that movie before. As far as filling ADB's spot, I would think they would just move Shaw up and fill in behind with Hagel/Highmore.
For Boqvist, I really hope they give Carlsson an extended look. He plays a really calm, confident game and doesn't get himself into trouble much. |

I can also see just inserting Walmark in his old spot, and put Soderberg between Suter and Kane. |

I know Soda did but I thought Walmark played some wing too? Wouldn't mind Carlsson or Beudin slotting in.

Aren't all 3 D on the taxi squad left-handed shots? The one that can play right D strongest would be my guess. |

Yep but Carlsson has played a fair bit of RD and Beaudin has as well. Not sure about Kalynuk. |
