Aren't all 3 D on the taxi squad left-handed shots? The one that can play right D strongest would be my guess.

Carlsson plays both sides. In camp he played both sides too

Might sound crazy but would love to see Hagel up with Kane and Suter. Give the kid a shot with offensive players. Then put Highmore back in on the 4th line and leave rest.

Don’t love sitting Wallmark but think Highmore deserves to get back in there.

For Boqvist’s spot, I think Carlsson should be in but wouldn’t be mad if Beaudin got a shot alongside Keith like he did back in May when he played his first ever game.

Would love to see Mitchell get that PP1 spot in Boqvist’s absence.

Good thoughts that I'm on the same wavelength with. Putting together a few other possibilities for Tuesday's blog.

Yep but Carlsson has played a fair bit of RD and Beaudin has as well. Not sure about Kalynuk.

Carlsson definitely plays both sides and so can Beaudin and Kalynuk. If I had to rank their ability to play RD starting with the strongest, Carlsson is tops then Kalnuk and Beaudin.

Krys can play both sides, too, but he's obviously not a candidate being on the Hogs roster this season.

Playing both sides is something that I appreciate about how the organization develops their blueliners. Not just being all around defenders reliable at both ends but also able to play either side.

Interested to see how they tweak the power play. Playing Kubalik on the left side is a waste, can’t one time it. If he plays the bumper, do you put Shaw on the left side? No one will respect his shot (and if Keith is playing the point on PP1, there is 2 shots you don’t have to respect. Or do you put Kane on left half boards and Kubalik on the right. After ADB, Hawks don’t have a Right handed shot that is a threat to play across Kane. Maybe they think outside the box and put Mitchell there?

The decision whom is in for Boqvist could rest upon a few factors. The crucial thought process may focus upon the following (which is Bowman/Colliton deciding factor if you were to rank most important to least important):

* best player to experience success would be Carlsson based on pro & NHL experience. He has played well with Keith. Since Boqvist was playing sometimes with Keith, slide Carlsson in here so that other pairs remain intact. Also, Carlsson plays a solid two way game and will hit.

* Beaudin has made strides and is thought to possibly become a stalwart one day. They want to see him play a few games in a row. He does a couple of things well and that stands out. His reads/smarts and puck mover/distributor

* Kalynuk For a rookie he is fairly good at each facet already. He probably would not look out of place except he is a lightweight physically- both Beaudin and Kalynuk for cripes sake. Already saw Beaudin last year in an NHL game. Could choose to give Kalynuk a game then send him to AHL when their season begins

LATE ADD i have heard as far as Carlsson goes, they know what they have in him. Meaning have watched him two years in AHL and while NHL material, he projects more as a complimentary and is not going to keep getting much better. Which is ok; he could have a career as solid serviceable. Maybe he would be someone who could even move into a top two pair and be ok. That said, maybe they wonder if the other two in this example could stand out more. Not sure but they like what they see. Let's play those guys a bit and see how they do. Hmmm.

Vancouver Canucks have a potent top offensive line formed this season. You have to like Pettersson, Horvat, Boeser scoring ability.

They overtook Ottawa tonight 7-1, but none of the aforementiined had a huge night.
Another former first round pick, #11 2007 by Carolina, had probably the only hat trick he will ever record. Good player although injury prone.

A member of the Sutter clan from Alberta province, Brandon Sutter had a night he will never forget. Ottawa though would like to forget this night.
