Hear lots of negative comments about Valimaki. I didn’t think he played a bad game, he’s involved in the offence, gets back to defend. Sure he coughed up the puck but that’s to be expected. I’m more concerned about Giordano, man he’s aged 5 years the last year.
Flames should be concentrating on d the next draft.

Not sure why Nordstrom’s playing, he’s useless out there.

Really missing Dube in the top 9.

The whole team was invisible the first period but I partly agree, Tkachuk seemed more focused on redemption than actually playing the game. Leafs played it well.

I think the good news from the Calgary perspective is you could argue the Flames generally outplayed the Leafs for 4 of 6 periods.

Calgary has been 2 different teams all year.

For example the first game of the year against the Jets we steam rolled them in the first period then got stomped for 2.

Good to see we can keep up with Toronto but they have a long way to go to become a consistent team.

Yep & the Canadians are going to paste us if we play like we did in the first.

Well it's still early and I think the only thing we know is Ottawa will end up in last place.
Other than that any order of finish wouldn't surprise me.

Yeah agree, but I think that's the team Flames has always been. We are consistently inconsistent.

I hope Flames figure it out soon. It is early for sure but it's not good to lose multiple games against the same team for confidence.

Montreal has been really really good, so let's see what happens against them

The thing with Flames is like Duran said, they are two different teams. If the 'good team' shows up against Habs, we might win... but if the other shows up

I am not sure if we should put a goalie who hasn't seen any game action against a team that is firing on all cylinders right now... maybe stick with Marky for now unless he needs rest... in that case, go with Rittich and see what happens... Rittich is also 'two goalies' ... if a good goalie in Rittich shows up we might be ok... if the other goalie in Rittich shows up... well we all know what happens then.

But I think it is a good idea to get Rittich some game action but maybe not against Habs

What happened to Gio ... i was thinking he will still be good based on how good he teakes care of himself.... but yeah I think his best days as an elite D-Man are behind him now. Ok I'll stop posting now... don't wanna annoy anyone for too many consecutive posts

I’d play him, as long as he knows he’s playing in advance he’ll be more than ready to go. Guys got pride, what Ward did to him in the playoffs wasn’t fair.

I have to say so far I am not the biggest Ward fan. I am sure there are a million things he does well that we do not get to see. But there are some things that I just can't (frank)ing understand. Some of the poop Ward pulls are rookie mistakes. Flames are in win now mode. An experienced coach that has a proven track record would make sense to me. When was the last time we had that? Might go a long ways in finding consistency.

Six fights eh, my Mother had more than 6 fights at the home, and She's in a wheelchair.

I am thinking some injury made him loose a step and some confidence.

I think most teams, in the north can say the same tbh. Leafs fans definitely don't know which Leafs they are going to get on any given night.

Think the shutdown last year took away Gio's legs in a big way. Either needs to find them again or will be bottom 3 next year.

I thought Valimaki looked pretty great last night - that play on the Lucic goal was sick. Showed strength on his skates holding off the defender, I was surprised how easy he made that look. Thought he was a stringbean.

2021 shaping up to be a pretty strong draft for D, so I guess we'll see what shakes out

Gio has been trash. But he always starts slow. Given his age, lack of training camp, no preseason etc. I am not surprised he's off to a slow start again.
