I’ll add the extra year for Roussel & Beagle. We didn’t have C depth after Gillis wasting drafts so I somewhat understand that. Roussel injuries have tainted his signing. Sven looked better than he was when we had nothing else. Also again that’s on Gillis leaving an empty cupboard. JB traded 2nds early on yes to try to fill depth problems he inherited. That’s on him & TL & indirectly FA.

Agreed on the last year being the real error with respect to the Rous, Beagle, and Loui contracts...did not like the Loui signing at the time but could have lived with a four or five year deal. Understand the rationale for Beagle and Rous but JB should have held firm at 3 years on both (even if he had to up the AAV to 3.5).

Not sure if it's the added glare of the all-Canadian division, but the fan base intensity seems to be up a notch in our already passionate Canadian markets. Ottawa today. Vancouver over the past week. Edmonton the week before. Is it just me or is the frying pan hotter?

Vince Dunn is on the block. I know he doesn’t have the start that he wanted but at 24, with a cap hit of less than $2M, It could be a good fit elsewhere.

The Anaheim Ducks have been one of the most anemic offenses in the league this season, scoring just 11 times in six games. Perhaps most notable is the complete lack of effectiveness with the man-advantage, where they have been outscored 1-0 on the season thanks to a shorthanded goal by Ryan Hartman of the Minnesota Wild. The fact that they’re 2-2-2 with such poor offensive production could be seen as something of an encouraging sign if they are able to fix what ails them at the dangerous end of the rink.
