We really shouldn't have to bring in outside help to fill a gap for a few weeks.

There are players in the organization looking for a chance - give them one.

If we need forward help, why not give Anderson a shot? He's got nhl experience (a bit) and the grit and drive we need more of.

Exactly.

This is a problem that will last a few weeks at most. Just give someone internally a chance.

Agreed.

Boyd seems like a decent option. He's scored 31pts in 85 career games playing only 10~ mins a game.

Or they could go with Anderson who appears to be a sparkplug type in the vein of Hyman.

Would rather go with either of those guys than bring back Ennis.

Ennis is a small guy, we got lots of those. Why is he being waived by oilers, it isn't because he's playing too good.

Precisely. Why do we need to collect more of what we already have for a temporary situation?

Is Tyler Ennis going to be playing in a Top 6 roll and getting power play TOI?

I don't think the Leafs need a 5'9 160lb forward.

- mjones242

Vesey is getting that and only has 2 points.

That is far too overblown, he has had success with playing time. Yes.

That is a good thing. Yes.

I'd take a flyer on Boyd or Anderson rather than go with the small skill player who just got cut from the Edmonton (frank)ing Oilers.

Very poor way to evaluate a player and their potential to fit on a team.

And neither have proven to be more than 4th line guys that need sheltered. They dont need another guy at net front on the PP either.

Ennis is a much better fit.

How she doin b’ye?

I had a piece here while ago.
Me and da missus was on a bit of a jolly, she’s sitting beside me in the ol Ford de’re, messin wit me toons and I comes up on Slow Down Corner likes I was Hoosayne Fookin Bolt wit his arse on fire. And guess what? Yep... I flopped er! Two, tree times at least b’ye. Somehows ended up on me rubber. Worst thing is b’ye...when we wuz at the inconvenience store - ya you heard that right. Sign says open 24 hours but the cod jiggers doesn’t tells ya it ain’t in a row. Anywho, we’ze gettin suds and the missus gets Timmies, and I notice the ash tray is pritnear cacsadin over, but it’s colder than a witches teat, so I tells meself, fook it, I’ll do er next time.
Well... you can understands the remorse I’s be havin now, see. Bad nuff we's drenched in beers and triple triple Timmies, but dat fookin ash tray wuz cause for consternation. Me and the missus is covered in butts, b’ye. Dey’s errywhere. In my ears, down me shirt, in our hair, in even down our pants. Why the missus was pullin used darts outta her public hairs for fooks sake.
Truck were’nt too bad tho, praise be, but I sure hopes you doin better than me.

Provide some adequate reasons why Ennis would be a good pick up and I'll provide you with better rebuttals. Such as:

Boyd's 85 games seems like a nice sample set that shows he scores at a better 5v5 rate than Ennis and with way less minutes a game and with much worse linemates.

If Dubas claims Ennis than I guess I'm wrong and they truly don't have much faith in either Boyd or Anderson enough to hold over until Robertson and Jumbo Joe are back. I'm not holding my breath that will happen though...

Listen, you. Stop taking Engvall out of the lineup. He's been one of the better forwards in his 2 games and mere 20 minutes of ice time.

Boyd has created 4 shots per 60 mins in his last 3 seasons. Ennis more than doubles that at 9. YES wether he was playing on Ottawa or on the Leafs 4th line with Par Lindholm and Trevor Moore. He posted identical P/60 in the past 3 years. So don't try and give me the he has had good line mates crap.

Boyd rode an extremely high shooting percentage last year at 15%. Wether using the comparable 4th line mins Boyd has been getting and Ennis was getting on the Leafs OR the top mins he got on Ottawa. Ennis has shown he creates much more offence.

it makes sense how Ennis has a .7 WAR and Boyd has a 0.1

Any way you look at it, Ennis is the superior player and can play up in the lineup. Boyd can not...unless you want a downgrade from Vesey.
