Not even for a second because Boyd is not a C. Just because WSH played him there doesn't mean he should be playing there. He has a 36% and a 42% FOW% in his first two half seasons in the NHL. He is not playing C here ever.

And when Thornton and Robertson come back he can go to the taxi squad, or get picked up on waivers.

I'm not suggesting he's playing C here "ever". I'm suggesting that, positionally, wingers typically shoot more than Cs which may may account for your shots/60 (which is largely extrapolated bullpoop when it comes to players very little TOI) statistical difference.

Having said that, this isn't supposed to be the only reason I'm suggesting their s/60 totals may be different. Just one potential reason of which I've already listed others. It's multivariate but it all leads towards my belief that Ennis is not an answer for this team in any respect.

He's small, we have an over-abundance of skill already playing up and down this lineup, and we have players on the taxi squad and soon-to-be-off-IR that are at least as good if not better than Tyler (frank)ing Ennis.
