i would resign Glendening. he doesnt score but he prevents goals (like that play in the first). these other guys (Erne, Filpulla, Nielsen) do nothing out there. |

Updated with second period summary
Second Period Summary-
Dallas only needed 4 seconds on the power play to even up the score. Hronek did what he needed to stop a breakaway, unfortunately Detroit PK couldn’t hold them off. All stemming from a faceoff win/set play. The PK came up big later in the period, and led to a 3 on 1 rush. Mantha’s confidence just isn’t there, and he chose to pass with out a lane. Dallas broke it up easily. Very important PK late in the period turned 4v4 with a Pavelski penalty. Over passing and poor passing decisions ate up Detroit’s opportunity. Bobby Ryan with a dangerous turnover. Detroit still needs to simplify their play when it comes to the man advantage. Cycle in the last minute showed promise, Namestnikov shot intentionally wide looking for a rebound or tip. Puck on net would have been much more effective, no SOG during a cycle that saw Dallas down with a broken stick. Greiss really kept Wings in it, very fortunate to be tied going into the third. |

Tough loss. Solid effort. We're going to lose alot of games like this. Can we please get Greiss a win? He literally gets no goal support. |

Third period/OT notes are up. I agree with G, Greiss more than deserves a W for outstanding support in net. Much better looking team than we saw in Chicago tonight. Lots to build off of.
Third period Summary-
Detroit finally caught up to Dallas in SOG, both ending regulation at 21. Strong goaltending at both ends. Detroit’s power play didn’t click in the third, but saw some much better looks and shots on net. The Red Wings were skating harder than they had during the Chicago series. Things seem to be picking up momentum. Greiss inspired a lot of confidence with his outstanding performance.
OT - Detroit was unable to turn a solid minute of possession into an overtime win. Very good patience by Klinberg led to a wide open Richardenson netting the game winner. Still a better effort for Detroit, and could turn into another solid performance as long as they focus on the positive shifts and increased confidence that the team was showing. |

Playing a low event tight checking game may be all Detroit can do to guarantee a closer game and a chance to win. I give Blash some credit in choosing this style of play for the Wings to hang in there like this and at least get a point for their effort.

That's one of the things which separates the good teams from the bad teams. Red Wings had a power play with less than 5 minutes to play in the 3rd and couldn't take advantage of it. We end up losing in OT.
I puked when I saw BOTH Nielsen and Filppula on the ice in the last minute. Is Blashill trying to lose on purpose? Those 2 dinosaurs can't keep up and are exposed each time they hit the ice.
I was happy we played the Stars even. Game could've gone either way. I saw the Red Wings compete tonight which is alot more than what I saw this past weekend. 3 losses in a row though. We all know how this can go south quick. |

Let the kids stay in the lineup when they get healthy again. I'll take Ras, Hirose, Smith over Frans, Flip, Helm. They are faster and are playing hungry. Ryan didn't produce but he still played his ass off and was the most noticeable player in the 3rd period. That is the kind of veterans we need. Filppula getting more ice time than Larkin this game is a joke, wtf is that even about? This was a winnable game, but they continue to give Greiss no support. 4 goals in his 4 starts is trash and frustrating to watch. I'm about done with Blashill. |

The compete was much better. The guys have to keep from getting too low. Usually they bond on these road trips but they can’t for now. It was a good step forward. Smith and Hirose were good tonight |

It is frustrating. To be fair Dallas had some really good goaltending and strong defense. We need to break through for sure. I wish there was a fresh approach behind the bench at times for sure |

We're just way too predictable to play against. In the 3rd period Dallas kept dumping the puck in knowing our D couldn't handle any pressure and they gained puck possession.
Luckily Glenny was great on faceoffs again or else Dallas would've had the puck even more. How many times will Blashill get caught with having too many men on the ice? This happens every game! That's a lack of coaching. |

Mantha is looking to pass first all the time. He's at his best when he doesn't hesitate and just blasts the puck. He must've passed up at least 3 prime scoring opportunities last night. He has zero confidence in himself right now.
We need him going because this team really really struggles to score goals. I know. This just in. I want to see Mantha using his size to cut towards the net. He'll either create a scoring chance or draw a penalty. He did it once last night. There's no reason why he can't do this 4-5 times each game. |

Agree, but is he the future or grab some pieces for him? I’m torn with guy.
Coaching won’t get better so we can’t depend on that to correct Mantha’s play. |

I'd only trade Mantha if I get fair value in return. If I just get lowball offers for pennies on the dollar? Just keep him. It's hard for any player to gain chemistry with other players if the coach is juggling lines all the time.
But the onus is with the player. Mantha needs to motivate himself and succeed no matter what Blashill does. |

Pass. I'm not too high on Kyrou. The 1st will essentially be an early 2nd. Dunn is overrated. |
