You have to accept the good with the bad if you are putting him on the top pair. The good will outweigh the bad in the long run. He is the best option outside of splitting up the other 2.
Not being on the 3rd pair and with Hagg makes quite the difference in a lads confidence. And confidence is everything for a guy like Ghost.
Outside of getting a few points, can't really ask for much more in his first game back. - Striiker
If he can play like that and we can avoid splitting up the 2nd pair when Myers gets back, that's all we need. If it means that Provy plays better as he isn't as hesitant with a D irresponsible partner, then that's huge. Coots back will also help team d as you know... Keep our head above water here..that's all I ask for now.. |

Giroux is playing absolutely fantastic. Looks 25 again.
Ghost was Ghost, which is amazing
Jake was good too
JVR had two nice deflections
Hagg is the worst defensemen in the league
Those are my main takeaways.
Best game so far by quite a bit, I think.

Not sure if you were able to watch the game but this was another "sh*t show" performance by the Flyers and they were extremely lucky to win this game. New Jersey hit at least 3 posts including 2 crossbars at the start of the 3rd period when the game was tied 2-2. I am exaggerating but I think the Flyers might have turned the puck over about 100 times last night, they were once again sloppy and at times very stupid. If they keep this up, they are going end up 6th or 7th in the division, mark my words. G and Provy had very good games but I wouldn't say G is playing fantastic by any means. Patrick started to show me something in the 3rd period but is still extremely passive in the o-zone. Perhaps Patrick should stay with G for the time being, maybe G can get more out of him. The Flyers 4th line had some really good shifts when the Flyers were reeling and needed it the most. |

Friedman partnered with Haag last night and it was adventure out there, they had one critical turnover I recall early in the 3rd that lead to a hit crossbar by the Devils. He has a long way to go.

Thanks, Bill.
Oscar had an awful game. Ghost at least looked okay, despite that one terrible missed coverage.
Our team is different offensively when they move their feet. I don't understand why it's so occasional.
Can't wait to get Myers back. I hold my breath when anyone but Provorov touches the puck right now, as it usually doesn't make it out of our zone otherwise. - therabbi
It's going to take time for Lindblom to get back to where he was. Gostisbehere was more than just okay. He handled and moved the puck well. Broke up plays. Got the puck to the net from the point. He was very good for a player playing his first game coming off of Covid. He had a few hiccups but recovered to make up for it. He made a difference out there.

Blues healthy scratched him last night and have him on the block. Credible sources said a ton of teams have called. Eklund says pitt philly competing for him. |

Flyers could send someone like friedman back and thats all it would take for us to be able to fit him. He makes 1.8 |

Ghost was Ghost lol I thought he played well but pump the blinders please. He had a couple turnovers directly in our slot and got caught on a pinch that led to a break away. He also made a great heads up quick play to lead to the Farabee goal too. Maybe you just mean take the good with the bad but I thought he was an overall positive last night, he was throwing that biscuit around. Gus should just be told to go back to wherever he came from and stay there. - ClaudeFather
One of them was a due to bad ice when he tried to lift the puck out on a backhand and the puck rolled. He played very well. If he plays at that level and better with more playing time, it will be a significant boost to the Flyers.

Ek says the Flyers are in on everyone.
There is NO WAY they are "competing" for him.
St. Louis has 0 cap space so the Flyers can't trade with them. It would have to be for non roster prospects and the Flyers don't have the cap space to fit him.
Add to that he ain't that good. |

I'm not sure if you actually watched the game. Or perhaps you're just not capable of accurately analyzing the game. While as Bill said it was not a masterpiece, they were improved in many areas over recent games. It was not a poop show. I'll agree that they had me warts and had some puck luck but it was a step in the right direction.

He brought the elements that are needed and some dynamic to the team. Clean up a few plays and he is right there. It's one game but very encouraging from Gostisbehere.

First they can afford him. Flyers put myers on ir. And st louis could take on a lower cap hit than Dunn aka like a friedman.
2nd the flyers have been in the market for a defenseman between the yandle rumors and gus signing you can see that fletcher puts a premium on puck moving defenseman. Dunn fits that bill. If a team cleans up some his bad habits he has a very high ceiling
Third I still don't see it happening. |

He does seem like a guy that thrives with more minutes and trust.
For a team that really struggles breaking out of their own zone, having Ghost out there for 20+ mins makes such a huge difference. |

He is a clear upgrade over the 4 horsemen of Hägg Gus Braun Friedman. |
