So anyone want to talk about these Dunn rumors ?
- Tfaehner

I don't see how the Flyers can be in on it. The Flyers have only $53K in cap space and St. Louis has $0 cap space according to cap friendly. St. Louis can't take on salary and the Flyers can't either, so unless they sway Dunn for someone like Friedman, Raffl, Haag or Braun, which would be crazy for St. Louis to do, I don't see how this works unless another team gets involved. Dunn is a good player and is young, so I wouldn't mind adding him to the Flyers.

He does seem like a guy that thrives with more minutes and trust.

For a team that really struggles breaking out of their own zone, having Ghost out there for 20+ mins makes such a huge difference.

Confidence is the biggest thing with Ghost.

A defenseman and draft picks/prospects would need to got the other way. Them wanting Hägg is pipe dream.

Flyers adding myers to ir. Send a lower salary like friedmam back or salary match with hagg or braun. Send Morin back to taxi. That simple.

I'm not sure if you actually watched the game. Or perhaps you're just not capable of accurately analyzing the game. While as Bill said it was not a masterpiece, they were improved in many areas over recent games. It was not a poop show. I'll agree that they had me warts and had some puck luck but it was a step in the right direction.
- MJL

A win in general is a step in the right direction and maybe this gives the Flyers confidence, but I assure you I did watch the game and am more than capable of accurately depicting what I was watching. There were improvements for sure, as I mentioned I thought Provy looked a lot better, and I do think having Ghost as his partner had something to do with it, and I mentioned G was very noticeable last night. I also mentioned I thought that 4th line had some big shifts when the Flyers really needed it. But overall, the same problems that we have watched this season were on full display last night, starting with the massive amount of turnovers and failed d-zone clearing attempts. These are more than just warts, these are game killers if not cleaned up. I will say it again, if the team plays like this against a competent team, which the Devils clearly are not, the Flyers will loose just like they did in Boston.

First they can afford him. Flyers put myers on ir. And st louis could take on a lower cap hit than Dunn aka like a friedman.

2nd the flyers have been in the market for a defenseman between the yandle rumors and gus signing you can see that fletcher puts a premium on puck moving defenseman. Dunn fits that bill. If a team cleans up some his bad habits he has a very high ceiling

Third I still don't see it happening.

- Tfaehner

Putting Myers on IR does nothing to create cap space. They would have to do more than just include Friedman.

You called it a poop show and if you think it was then no, you aren't capable. The Flyers were much improved in moving the puck out and creating offense off of it. Gostisbehere was a big part of that.

Nice to see Nolan Patrick back and playing well. I thought he might be done with the head issues. I wish Nico Hischier was in our lineup because it's fun to see them play against each other. Admittedly irrelevant but still interesting.

See you soon!

Myers and Frost already on IR. However I didn't realize Morin was on the roster and not the taxi squad, so yes that would save us $700K and make this work. However Why would St. Louis trade Dunn for Haag or Braun? How does that help them?

If you watched the game from the middle of the 2nd period to half way through the 3rd period, it was an absolute "poop" show! You can't possibly describe it as anything else. In the 2nd the Flyers showed little on a PP and then withered away as the Devils put two goals up in a matter of minutes to tie the game. The start of the 3rd was an absolute disaster and it could have easily been a 4-2 Devils lead by 5 minutes into the period. So yes, I did watch the game and I did see what I am sure everyone else watching was seeing. In fact, several of us were posting last night right here as the it was going down.

Now you're moving the goalposts and now just a portion of the game was a poop show. When a team does a lot of things well and improved from recent games, despite some issues and wins the game, that is not a poop show.

Dunn should be a no go, he is a less offensive version of Ghost/Gus with all the same pitfalls.

Did the Flyers really improve or were they playing a lower echelon opponent? Lets see how it goes on Thursday. If the Devils get better puck luck, it may be a very different outcome.

You may be right but Dunn has been a significantly plus player for the Blues the past two seasons, based on the stats anyway.

My impression was that jd was exaggerating. I got that impression because he literally said he was exaggerating right after he called the game a poop show. What are you guys arguing about?

This is a good question. The push back by the devils had me worried. Glad ghost did ok last night. Had some turnovers but didn’t end up in our net. Hope he continues but we shall see. He always seems to be on fire the first game after returning to the lineup. Glad Scott’s line had better forechecking.

Others mentioned. It was the devils. Not sure if we win that game against a stronger opponent. But still early.

Watching them play Oscar and patty have another level they haven’t tapped into yet. Hope they get it all back shortly.

And another note. Upsetting that again we failed on a few odd man rushes. Glad they did as well.

Ghost was good last night. He is capable of more. He should continue to play ahead of Gus. I think Hagg is odd man out when Myers returns.

Good win. Need to build on it though. The big dollar players are producing offensively so that’s good.

G was great. Hopefully he is able to sustain this level for the season. I am fine with Hart or Elliot on Thursday.

I would go with hart on Thursday.

Guessing Friedman will be first out. Signing Gus, hope it’s just adjusting to everything. Didn’t expect him to be that bad at first. But 3 mil for a 7 th s is bad.

Also helps who they’re playing. A young team coached by Ruff, whose teams lack structure and have weak forechecking is Tailor made for ghost

Fereidman has managed the puck better than Hagg. I know that’s not the only factor. We will see.

If Ghost is playing well and Myers is back where does Gus fit?

Not sure if you were able to watch the game but this was another "sh*t show" performance by the Flyers
- jd250

I wouldn't go that far. They were bad for stretches and had some good stretches. Was nice that they didn't fold up when NJ tied it like they did against Boston. I take that away as a positive.

They can be better. They need to minimize the lapses that allow the opposition to get back into the game.

On a scale of 1 to 10 I give them a 6 for last night.

I think the marginal improvement was largely related to the competition they faced last night. Ghost makes them better, but this team is not playing well besides the pp and goaltending
