Freddie's poor play is like an infectious disease, which is spreading throughout the dressing room. |

I think Pierre Engvall is a legit 3rd line NHL'er. |

Maybe it’s time for Muzzin - Brodie
Rielly - Holl - Garnie
The defense is actually doing a fairly decent job in the past few games. The forwards are the ones missing assignments, causing unforced turnovers in the neutral zone, and not taking their guys in the defensive zone (which I guess doubles as missing assignments, but they are really missing those assignments).
Every defenseman is going to lose some battles or get caught out of position or have a bad play. It's the constant repetition of those same plays that make a player infuriating (Gardiner / Barrie) in a defensive role. In the past few games, these guys have been doing ok, I think. |

That vaccination/anti-vaccination debate stops now.
This is a hockey board.... want to talk medicine? Find a site appropriate to do so.
Bans will follow if necessary. |

We so rarely agree that now I have to question my opinion of Engvall!
I think he is, too. His offensive production is adequate and his defensive play is excellent. One thing I would caveat this with - at least at this point in his career - is that Engvall has seem overmatched when playing the opposition's top 6 on a regular basis, but he has (what I think at any rate) the highest HockeyIQ on the team. |

I think the Leafs should prepare more than just diet and training, I think they should learn to recognize an opposition attack and prevent them from setting up in the zone. Just relying on fitness and diet is totally naive and ignores the advances make in hockey. That would take us back to the hockey dark ages. 😉 |

I think they need to regularly rotate squad guys to keep them engaged and ready if they are needed. |

Just move Willy back for awhile, he can do anything. He’ll be our modern day Red Kelly. Only way more beautiful. |

Rielly - Holl - Garnie
Muzzin-Holl seems to be playing some great hockey which makes me hesitant to break that tandem up... but Rielly-Brodie is looking pretty weak right now, so maybe?
Then again, maybe I'm just panicking and the pairings need more time to settle in... |

I have a feeling that we may see Rielly with Bogosian soon. As for Freddy's 5-hole, it made Lucic smile last game. - PatC80
I swear you could actually see Lucic's cro-magnon brain slowly kicking into gear and trying to engage the "shoot 5 hole on Andersen!" mantra that has no doubt been baked into players league wide.
He had that much time to think. |

Ya the 3rd and 4th lines looked good last game, guys going hard trying to stay in the lineup. I like the idea of the rotation. |
