Well good thing they're playing the habs next.

Habs top 4D are 880 pounds (almost half a ton…). They can take care of him… Leafs did jack S _ _ _ about what was done to Anderson... by the way...

His little brother Brady did the same stuff to Prmeau and Weber took care of that elegantly…

My prediction: He will keep quiet...

It's the Toronto media. They eat their own.
- gergeswillems

I wish I could remember who said it, but there was a member of the Montreal hockey media who basically said that the Habs' media coverage is just as rabid and unforgiving as the Leafs' media coverage, but the difference is at the end of the day, the Habs' media want the Habs to win. That's not necessarily true in Toronto.

Different reason.

Schilling is an ass.

But Ty Cobb was reportedly the worst human to ever walk the face of the earth, and he's in the Hall of Fame.

Same as Dave Keon.

What I was trying to get at is it's the sports writer's who choose. One of the most narcissistic, self important group of female genitalias in the world.

The French media is tough in Montreal. Anglophone media is a joke. A pure cheerleader of the Habs. Their talk radio is hilarious. You'll never hear that here.

It's also the strange idea that anyone who plays like Tkachuk becomes a guy who helps you win.

There was no need to send the indictment to the Senate so quickly.

Now all it does is slow down Biden's agenda, and give the Republicans a key victory early in Biden's term (yes, I know that Biden didn't do this, but it will be tied to him).

Why not wait a couple of months and see what other poop comes out? At least make it more embarrassing for the Republicans who vote to acquit.

Hell, as it stands now, I wouldn't vote to convict. If you look at everything he said, it treads the line and implies quite a bit to rabid, stupid followers - but he never gives a direct order.

Yes, agreed with all of this except the vote to acquit - he incited that mob, and did absolutely nothing to stop it once it began.

Not with Keefe as coach.

If you had a guy like Torts or Babs or Keenan, maybe he could stamp the stupid stuff out, while continuing to allow the guy to be an agitator.

But this is just embarrassing. We traded Kadri for a reason.

- Atomic Wedgie

Yes and that reason was stupidity.

And I would probably argue that baseball writers are the most narcissistic, self-important group of arseholes amongst sports writers.

Roger Clemens: 7 Cy Young Awards.

Next closest is Randy Johnson with 4.

Steve Carlton and Greg Maddux - a couple of pretty good pitchers - have 4 each.

Clemens' first Cy Young was in 1986. His last was in 2004.

He should have been a first ballot hall of famer.

Individual Republicans don't have the courage to excise Trump. You've only seen Act 1 of the Trump show.

I know. It’s why I said months ago that party is (frank)ed. Those that break with him are primaried and dint win nominations. Staying with him pulls the party further into cuckoo land and away from where the country is moving demographically and on issues.

How the frank do you keep Roger Clemens out of the Hall of Fame?

Ridiculous.

Yes, he was juiced.

So was everyone.

- Atomic Wedgie

I'm not even convinced he juiced any the first half of his career. I think when his numbers dipped around mid 30's he started. He already had won Cy youngs and had a fantastic career

There's alot of truth in that. I always thought Howie Booger was always cheering for the Leafs opponents. We all saw Dreger embarrass himself about supposed offer sheets. Steve Simmonds rarely has anything good to say about the Leafs.

I think both Bonds and Clemens should be in. Both these players dominated their era's. Thing is, BIG Papi Ortiz will most likely be voted in the hall of fame next year. He was one of the biggest juicers around. But he was very well liked. Bonds and Clemens weren't.

Look at Jack Morris. He was the best pitcher of the 80s. Won 3 world series titles with 3 different teams. Pitched one of the most memorable games in WS history with Minny. And he only got in because of the veterans committee 15 years later. But the media hated him. It's a popularity contest.

Claude Lemieux drilled Kris Draper from behind and broke every bone in his face. Claude said Draper should thank him because he made him famous.

Every fan in the NHL always said they hated Claude but would love to have him on their team. Same for Marchand. Same for Tkachuk. We hate these guys but love them if they're on our team.

Cheer for the laundry. Every one of of us is a hypocritical bastard though we'll never admit it.

I'm also reminded of what Charlie Francis said in the Dubin inquiry:

Steroids were worth about one meter in the 100-meter dash. You needed to decide whether or not you wanted to start with that handicap.

Clemens knew all the hitters were juicing. What was wrong with leveling the playing field?

For those of you who don't like mathing, that's 123 points in a regular 82 game season.

Still very, very early, though.

Do the Leafs do their customary February swoon in February this year, or does it shift to early April due to the scheduling changes?

- Atomic Wedgie

I want to see some fireworks at the TDL for the Leafs

Yes, he did.

There's nothing wrong with marching down the Capitol Building to stand outside and peacefully protest.

Look, I hate Trump as much as the next guy, but there simply isn't enough to convict him, and even if there was, you aren't going to get 17 Republican senators to vote against him.
