Any one else reporting Pens interest in Dunn besides the head case who runs this site? |

You know, when someone mentioned shipping Matheson to them, I knew that was a no-go because STL has cap issues (nevermind that Matheson sucks). The first player I thought of was Ceci (nevermind that he sucks, too). Maybe a 2nd + Ceci? I know that sounds like crap (and it is), but hey, worth a shot. I'm sure another team can outbid us. Probably works out like Kap - they won't take a 2nd, so do we give them our 1st (2022)? Frankly, I do. But they have to take Ceci! |

Why did we add a bottom pairing (if that) RHD? Only makes sense if they trade a RHD for help elsewhere, but I'm not counting on it making sense. |

meh... unless the cost is extraordinarily cheap, I'd rather just ride out the injury bug. I think their few precious assets should go towards another scoring winger to be honest.
I could see Dunn making sense if it ended up as a net positive long term. But in reality Dunn will be just another guy like Joseph and Riikola who ride the pine in favor of lesser "veteran" D men.
Left Dmen ---> Dumo / Pettersson / Joseph / Matheson / Riikola. If Dunn was a locked-on top 4 d-man, it could open the door to trade Dumo or Pettersson for forward upgrades or cap relief...but he's not. Plus Matheson is untradeable. Dunn is a short term fix that causes a long term problem.

I haven’t heard anything besides Ek...
from Jfresh Twitter on Vince Dunn, “Dunn's underlying numbers say top-four or even top-pairing defenceman.“ I think for being 24, RFA on a cheap contract the blues asking for a 1st is definitely in the right ballpark. |

I don't know but Weber really sucks. Like, he makes Ceci look good. |

Does Dunn suck as bad at defense as everyone says he does? |

Ask Vince Dunn if he'd take a career like the "ineffective defender" Ron Hainsey's. He'd say yes in a millisecond. |

Would say fair comparison is Shattenkirk.
He does tend to get the easiest assignments and put on ozone face offs. Problem is now he is 4th in line for PP duty after Krug, Parayko and Faulk and doesn't play PK.
With Faulk playing really well and Blues liking the depth behind Dunn I can see them trading him and signing another Bortuzzo type which is what we are missing now, with the injury. |

Yeah. Maybe you guys can trade back for Reaves so we can send you Blueger and a 1st and get him again. |

I think the last couple trades we did we still have every player on the roster and Pens have zero.
That Reaves trade saved us since we had to use a first to dump the Lehtera contract.
After the picks were made i think it ended up being Reaves and some finnish goalie for Sunquist and Thomas. |

Ok, well, if his offense is or is projected to be as prolific as Shatts, sign me up. Not sure who we ship out, though, if we plan on keeping him beyond this year. If not, that's an expensive rental.
Then again, this feels like rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic. |
