Thanks Carol.
I wonder why Horvat never seems to get any love anywhere. The guy is one of the most underrated and under-appreciated players in the league. |

If he sticks around in that company for the rest of the year, I expect the narrative will start to change. Especially if the Canucks can reverse their fortunes and start winning again.

Ya for sure.
I find it funny when those that called him a 3LC, as a ceiling, actually think their opinion is valued around here.😁
His play style helps a young fella like Nils adapt nicely into the league, who knows maybe Vasili as well. |

So much talk about him being a beta and EP being an alpha. |

Another big win tonight, can they score 8? Depends if items MM again or not.
As Gemcoaster said last thread, Petey is due to break out, and once he gets it going he’s going to be unstoppable. JPat and Drancer suggested it wouldn’t be until mid to late Feb that Petey would overtake Sutter in goal scoring but it could be as early as the end of the game on Thursday. |

Ya, I think those were the same guys that thought Chayka was a good GM and Clayton Keller was well worth the 8 year deal he signed.

It was JB who spoke with Futa a few months ago, so It was probably about the possibility of a role in management.
"Futa’s expertise being in the draft and amateur scouting department" Maybe he replaces Weisbrod.

LA's drafting has not been very good. I don't know how long he has been there but Toffoli and Pearson are there best two picks in the past decade and they were picked 2010 and 2012 |

And he has a similar skillset as JB, you need a shrewd negotiator with a proven track record. Fill in the gaps that JB lacks, like brains for example.

I have a theory on Petterson's struggles and agent change are a result of some bad advice from his agent as a means of squeezing more money out of Bauer during training camp (which seems to have worked by the way, since he's one of the first three players photographed in an all black Bauer skate labeled "Prototype"). Spent all week using a stick he never intended to play with and now pucks are bouncing and his handling skills seem to lack the usual swagger we've seen in years past. Not that the struggles will last, but thats my theory on the slow start |

Futa was the VP of Hockey Operations and Director of Player Personnel in LA from 2007 to 2017, when he was named Assistant General Manager. He wasn't renewed in May of 2020.
For context. |
