Pearson hasn't scored much but that line has been good (eye test and fancy stats) - Motte seems to be driving the third line in many ways by himself so I would rather they keep as is. Not sure Pearson would be as effective in that role - likley better suited riding shot gun with Bo and Hoggs.

I honestly would try a lot of things this year. I expect half the forwards will not be here next year so I would .

6 goals combined so far for MTL's entire bottom 6 and Sutter/Motte combined have 9...

Keep trying...

- LordHumungous

so it's too early in the season to draw conclusions about the canucks but it's not too early to say that sutter/motte's current output makes the canucks bottom 6 better than the habs'.

can't make this sh!t up!

Best part about all of this is the fact that it's coming from a 9 game stint in which in only two of those games, the players have done anything.

Needed to get rid of Sutter for years, scores a hat trick. League's best 3lc.

Tyler Motte is in the box for 4 goals against and should be benched for taking too many penalties. Scores in back to back games, versus the worst team in the league. Should see what he looks like in the top 6.

Personally I would take Montreal's entire bottom six (except Perry) over all our guys, look at their ages, only Byron is older but he scored three consecutive 20 goal seasons in recent years.
- Pacificgem

I would take one player from each of the North division bottom 6 and make the best bottom 6 EVER

hold on a sec...

you thought they'd be a top 10 team this year (enough of the covid excuses - every team is going through the same thing) but the team will turn over "half the forwards" by next season?

I seen a disturbing stat the other day and can't remember who or where but they pointed out that Pearson was closing in on thirty games without a goal that was not an empty net goal. He has been pretty middle of the road.

.

Speaking of disturbing stats - I believe Murph said last night that Vancouvers defence have produced the most points of any D core so far this year? And remember a few years ago our D scored the fewest goals league wide. Unfortunately, we've given up the most goals as well!!

take the good with the bad???

CLOSE - nice try tho!! Kotkeniemi and Armia are the two correct answers.
- Brooks_Light

Purely from an age standpoint I'm taking most of them considering Beagle is 35, Sutter is 32, Roussel is 31 and Gaudette is terrible defensively.

But yeah, definitely taking those two.

Typically highend offfensive players always lead the league in turnovers because A) they have the puck a lot B) because they're always trying to create. I think McJesus lead the league last year.

When your bottom six guys turn it over it's a bigger issue. Our number one line has been brutal with turnovers this year though.

Yes I do understand, the main comment was how much complaining fans continually make, even when they make good plays, just pointing out the hypocrisity and making an overall comment.

Other than Montreal (so far) this division is about equal talent wise, any team can beat any team on any given night.

When did I stop saying we would not finish top 10?

In other good news - with Petterssons 2 points last night he moves ahead of Hischier for 1st place in his draft class - EP did it in 61 less games as well.

And to think we could've drafted Glass, MIddlestadt, Vilardi, Lias Anderson.

7oa pick to traded for a late 2nd rounder. How's that NYR rebuild going.

Makar has 58 points in 64 games as a defenseman, that's unreal, he's sixth on that list and he's played 60% less games than the five guys ahead of him.

I swear if the Canucks would've won the first overall pick Linden and Benning were picking him.

So top 10 finish and then the team changes half of its forwards? That's the equivalent of replacing 2 full lines in one season.

That's a bold strategy Cotton.

Edit:. I just re-read your post and I'm confused by the double negative. Are you now saying they won't be top 10 or still saying they will be top 10?

That's because you think this teams success is built around the bottom 6 and I think it is built around Petey Bo JTM and Hughes.

Don't you remember Gorton coming out and saying they were rebuilding. They penned a letter to their fans. The tank was on. Then they saw an opportunity and signed and traded to make their club better and hired a rookie coach.
