Or....they could've picked Noah Dobson or Ty Smith in 2018 to build a great defence and then picked Zegras in 2019?

Obviously happy with the way it turned out though.

- Pacificgem

Come on Podkolzin scored the other day. He's got one more points in one less game than he did last season. Guy has more hits in 1 game than Zegras has in an entire season.

I am still on board that this team will get going. I think they will finish top 10 .

I think next year Peasron Gaudette Jake Roussel Sutter and Zack will not be part of the team. I will also say that unless Brock has a better year and not be going through long stretches of no goals they will trade him too . His qualifying offer the following contract would be too high for a 20 goal guy.

not a chance in hell that's gonna happen

I am going to call BS. After last nights win ( a game we should have won) it was a ghost town in here. If Canucks lose or play really bad we get 40 pages.

Passion my ass , there are many in here that love to see this team fail.

- VANTEL

No one in here wants to see the team fail, I think that's a fallacy. Everyone wants them to win, some just view the process of winning and losing differently. Much like the bubble playoffs, it was exciting and the winning was great, it was fun, however, if you break it down and understand why they were winning (goaltending) you know it's not sustainable.

For some it's just about the wins and loses, or goals and/or points, for others it isn't. And hey, that's fine, but at the end of the day we all want them to win the God Damn Stanley Cup!!

Well... They won the game before and the number of pages is similar to the number of pages to the game before when they lost.

Btw, did you want the team to lose when the Sedins were here? Could explain why you think so many people here are rooting for defeat.

It was a ghost town here last night . Believe it. Don't believe it.

He's gonna be awesome, hopefully, but you build through the middle of the ice, and if it played out like I hypothesized, they would've picked a center imo.

Makar, Dobson, Zegras or Petey, Hughes, POdkolzin?

They might. He is about to be overpaid and he is the most expendable asset we have. If they want a dman they need to part with somebody of value

Pregame naps are the best. I think I'm going to take tonight off and get ready for the Jets.

Actually, you build from the net out.

Give that some thought and apply that theory to this team.

so it's too early in the season to draw conclusions about the canucks but it's not too early to say that sutter/motte's current output makes the canucks bottom 6 better than the habs'.

can't make this sh!t up!

Ok, I stand corrected, as I was already taking into consideration they had Demko, Makar, Ty Smith or Noah Dobson, which means they built from the net out and then they needed to build the forward group through the middle....but thank you for correcting me as I'm often misunderstood

Six in one hand, half a dozen in the other....as I said, I'm happy with how things unfolded. Benning's collected some great young players for this organization.

I believe there's a number of reasons you may or may not agree with but from an organizational standpoint:
1. JB rarely makes trades - (especially not blockbusters) 2. They're not smart enough to see his value as expendable/tradable. 3. They don't have any other wingers/snipers capable of scoring like him. 4. They absolutely love him 5. I think they'll find a way to resign/cap-wise.

Team building and he's "marinating" the rest of the prospects.

See, this is what I mean, to you it's only four spots difference, to others however, it's a huge 14% difference between those spots. Which is a lot. Everyone has a different perception.

Funny, Jim Rutherford became GM of PIT almost the exact same time as JB 7 long years ago.

Apparently he decided to resign when ownership didn't want to rebuild.
