the dude broke his kneecap - that’s possibly the most disgusting injury I’ve ever heard of. He was off the ice for 10 months. He was mediocre to begin with - Brooks_Light
Didnt stop a certain segment of this fanbase from crying about losing him. |

I feel sorry for Edler. I see the speed going and the mistakes are more plentiful.
I got attached to Eddie the Fossil . I know back in 2010-2015 I could not get rid of him fast enough but he grew on me. I think his career as a player is ending soon (maybe after this year). - VANTEL
If Juolevi keeps up his steady play, Eddie could easily be replaced. |

If Rutherford thinks that the Penguins were in the running for the SC this year, I could see why management had thought he's lost his mind. The lost to the Cdn's during last years play in's and just traded a bunch of people around. The team wasn't better. |

Friedman Tim and Sid were also having a good laugh at this fanbase yesterday. - VANTEL
I can see why. Most fans are blowing things out of proportion. Sure JB should probably be replaced as I don't think he can build the team properly from here. My main issue at the start was that they were looking like they had no motivation to win while losing. |

Makar, Dobson, Zegras or Petey, Hughes, POdkolzin?
that's a tough one but Im still sticking with the way things turned out. - Brooks_Light
I don't know, makar, Hughes and Podz would still be pretty damn good.
Makar and Hughes as top two D would be pretty damn lights out. |

People are impulse. Those people are usually the ones to talk about it first.
I mean JB built a team last season that went to the 2nd round. Thanks to cap reasons, he couldn't bring the exact team back. I'm glad because the team didn't win. So chose a slightly different path. If the team stops taking steps forward, then it might be time to try someone else, who's better. |

I agree . I like what OJ has brought. For the last five years Edler has brought stability but all things must come to an end.

I did not like the start but they moved and replaced some key players. WE still need a lot more time to get use to things but I think our high end players and the vets will figure it out.

I highly doubt this team is making it past the second round this year, so they're in line to not take a step forward.
I don't see this team making the playoffs this year (though barely), either, so a pretty big step back. |

I disagree, Making 2nd round with Tanev and Marky(and to a lesser degree, Toffoli) replaced with younger players is a step forward. Remember that Holtby was brought in to be Demko's back-up. They may do a 60/40 split, but that is more games than Demko got last season. |

Part of the plan. The big picture
That was a bit of a head scratcher I must say , that will teach him to score a goal. Benn has been playing very well though so I will keep quiet. |

I'd love to hear burkie's unfiltered opinion on specific players.
Something tells me he'd sound a bit manic like the rest of us.
Let's not forget that the guy has gotten fired more for his personality clashes than his hockey decisions. Sometimes it's not always everybody else. |

Your comments are pretty spot on . I agree about him being a loose canon and fired twice. I feel the same way about Gallant.

I know that they just beat Ottawa but the point I want to make is they beat them they had lapses and tough moments but they beat them.
I think it's odd how short the memory is here, they have had trouble with the teams they should beat. Someone earlier mentioned this has been a reset and I agree, they look more like the bubble Canucks. Why? Demko -the Canucks if they continue to give up chances as they find their way will need better than just ok goaltending, they need the tenders to bail them out while they find their way. Petey will be fine he needed to shoot and he did, got a goal and you could see the confidence swell. Love JT Miller he's so effective all over the ice, he will force Boeser and Petey to play the right way. |

The media loves to mock Vancouver Canucks fans, and judging by the posts in here I can certainly understand why.
Lordy is spot on by continually (ad nauseam) referring to team whiner.
The team had a really poor showing in the 1st period and was bailed out by Demko, the rest of the way they played entertaining hockey.
You guys do realize that other teams will get opportunities, shots on net, possibly get around Canuck players, but even when the Canucks player makes a great play or diffuses a breakup, nothing from the peanut gallery, nothing.
The opposition get by the Canuck player and holy poop, he’s crap, paid to much, Benning (frank)ed up by signing him.
I’m a stats expert and every time this guys sits with his legs crossed his numbers show he will get blue balls, it’s right there, stats don’t lie.

I was just saying in response to the point that if the team doesn't continually take steps forward, then it might be time to try someone new (GM).
A step forward from last year (as a team) would be making it out of the second round. Doesn't matter who is here or not, it's the team under that GM.
I don't see them making it to the playoffs, let alone out of the second round. And that's growing pains. Would love to be wrong though! |

He's been getting better for us each game and has been steady. He gives us more chances to break in to the offensive zone/keep pressure than Tanev did. He is not quite as defensively sound, but the positives look like they will outweigh the negatives. |
