I was just saying in response to the point that if the team doesn't continually take steps forward, then it might be time to try someone new (GM).

A step forward from last year (as a team) would be making it out of the second round. Doesn't matter who is here or not, it's the team under that GM.

I don't see them making it to the playoffs, let alone out of the second round. And that's growing pains. Would love to be wrong though!

I do think this is a PO team but the format with one single division will work against them for sure as it will a few other clubs. We surprised in PO's last year the team played together and looked good for the most part. But not sure expecting the conference finals this year is realistic based off what we saw last season IMO. Based off personel changes making the PO's and winning a round would be nice...but beyond that...tough one

He's been getting better for us each game and has been steady. He gives us more chances to break in to the offensive zone/keep pressure than Tanev did. He is not quite as defensively sound, but the positives look like they will outweigh the negatives.

Schmidt will come around. He had major support in Vegas and will take him some time to get adjusted here. Much different coaches and systems lol

On a player by player basis, for sure.

But as a team, for the GM who's had some chatter about him being on the hot seat for his poor decision making... ya, where he finishes in the standings and the playoffs is a pretty important marker.

Sorry, I just read one comment a few pages back, about Edler not here next season, makes me almost throw up, as he has been the only one who actually defends, like a defenseman is supposed to.
If anyone thinks that this "upgrade" that the Canucks made, is going to help on the defensive end, I think they might be sadly disappointed.
