I agree with most of that. I disagree on Backlund. He linemates change every game. Once Dube is back put Mang back with him and he’ll be fine.

Sort of like what they’ve done to Bennett the last 4 years and everyone wonders wtf?

I stated that I don’t like what Simon is providing on in the top 6. If Ward can put newly acquired Simon and Levio on Monahans wing, why hasn’t he tried Sammy?
Don’t give me the bullsh!t about penalties, cause someone on this team besides Chucky has to show a pulse.

Bennett doesn’t show a pulse. It’d be one thing if he took physical penalties and not stick infractions. You can’t ignore the dumb penalties he takes all year long.

Well that was an awesome effort last night. This team needs an injection of youth. Ward’s too stupid to realize that, playing that pos Nordstrom Over our youth is a huge mistake. Would rather Treliving taken a chance on Perry than signing that useless plug.

Ryan looks useless as well, time to sit and watch a game or 10.

What’s wrong with Backlund? Shadow of his former self.

Watched Simon play with 13 & 23 the last 2 games, it’s not working, enough already! The guy continually gives the puck away.

Nesterov had a tough game, he’s playing with a rookie that can’t cover his mistakes. If this is what we can expect, then it’s time Krylington gets a chance.

Not blaming Rittich but that 4th goal was atrocious. He looks like his confidence is shot, the first 2 goals although not his fault, we’re very deflating. The fragile core could not recover.

Everyone looked flat last night. I think it's the reality of the condensed schedule hitting. Just a bit later than most because you had the first week off.

Yeah man. I had hoped he would try and start where he left off. He has not.

The excuse I heard them give is that he plays his best when they put away the whistles.

I wish they did not have to give excuses.

I turned the game off after the 2nd period, did he take a stupid penalty in the 3rd. He had 1 game that I can remember this year where he took 2 stupid penalties. Nothing since, I don’t get why people don’t get pissed when others take stupid penalties, cause that happens every game and no one complains. Then Bennett takes one and everyone’s like “ fuk Bennett, you dope!”

Not sure what game everyone else was watching last night. The Flames were fine. It was pretty much even throughout. The Canadiens scored a perfect PP goal that's extremely hard to stop. The Flames got a bunch of those in their wins. Then they scored a ridiculous lucky goal. Anderson made a great play that you see players miss every game. The SH goal was bad, but whatever. A bounce going their way or the Flames getting the first PP and the game could've been completely different.

If the Leafs and Canadiens are at the top of the division, after watching this week, the gap between them and the Flames is miniscule.

Buddy they looked like poop for most of the game. They had a player only meeting today so that tells you something.

You can play well and still lose 4-0. You don't have to completely dominate a team to play well either. Toronto and Montreal are the top of the division. Calgary can change nothing, play the exact same way and win three in a row against those two teams next week.

They passed the eye test, and they passed the fancy stats test as well. Calgary out corsied, out fenwicked, outchanced, out expected goals, and out expected goals against last night. Montreal had one more high danger chance. It wasn't just skewed by a third period where one team was trailing by four.

Runs like this happen. There's no reason to overreact. The only changes they need to make are getting Simon, Leivo, and Nordstrom out of the lineup.

He didn’t, my point is that he’s been given opportunities to play with guys that actually have skill but he mucks it up by taking dumb penalties and making boneheaded decisions. Hard to earn a coaches trust when you fail whenever given an opportunity.

Yes there is.

Tanev seems your best d and his play will fall off over the next few years.

Markstrom is great if you don't overplay him, good luck with that without even an AHL caliber backup.

If you don't win in the next couple years you'll have Tanev, Markstrom and Lucy as dead cap in year 3. 36 year old goalies don't agree well.

How does it feel to only be better then Edmonton and Ottawa?

I'll worry about next year next year. Pretty decent chance Seattle helps them out by taking Tanev, Backlund, or maybe even Giordano.

I've been advocating a Flames rebuild for a few years now, but that's one of the worst attemps at trolling I've seen in a while.

Wasn't trolling.

Both Tanev and Markstrom are under rated and elite.... but... the contacts will not agree well and Markstrom played lights out when he played 2 of 3, more then that and his play dropped off. You need some competent depth to get the best out of him.

You've got game in hand to catch up on points, if you win them you'll get all the way to...5th in the division.... they doing play in games this year, or just the top 4 in each division?

If they take gio it would be most helpful.
Sadly, long term you need to expose Markstrom to avoid years 3 through 6... but he has a nmc doesn't he?

Doesn't Tanev have a NMC?

They'll already have their top RHD when they take Myers.

Also, we have a 20 goal scoring power forward available for trade, all it'll cost you is Bust Bennet and a first.
