We all want the pipe dream of him slotting in at C and fitting in seamlessly. - aecliptic
I don't necessarily want that, but I believe that the biggest reason he has Strome and Zibinajed on the PP is if Z gets booted out of the faceoff
If Lafreniere can do it, that's the first step to getting Strome the (frank) outta there |

Tons of chances every single game. While the start to the season was maddening, I think what you've mentioned is very true. And it's been a good reminder by TJ (go figure ) to be patient.
This hasn't been mentioned yet: Shesty got his first win of the season yesterday. We forget because he went 10-2 last year, but he's still technically a rookie. Like Laf getting his first goal, Shesty getting his first win should shake the tension. - Bean_Dip
That's for sure true. With the divisional play and only division standings making up the playoffs, it's very possible that a team with 55-60 pts makes it. We just need a couple of our rookies to really get going and we should be right there. Again, there's no team in our division I think is unbeatable.

I noticed Lafreniere won a faceoff last night pretty convincingly - jimbro83
Isn’t Kravtsov a center? Not saying he’s the answer either, just curious |

Well Strome was off the powerplay last night, so that's a start
The reality with this team is there is only one powerplay unit. The first unit is out there for 1:45 every powerplay. So it's gonna be hard for the kids to get on there. |

Well, if the first PP is going to be that dominant and control the puck in the offensive zone for nearly the whole time, then so be it.

Yeah, not a fan of that, because if they aren't scoring it takes awhile to get back to rolling the 4 lines. Would be nice if it was split up evenly |

Right. Down side is that if they have several powerplays and play for 1:45m each time, they will start wearing down and our 3rd period will look worse. |

the number 1 reason for this is Adam Fox, he is the best Rangers defenseman at keeping the puck in the offensive zone since Brian Leetch, he's brilliant out there
that's why PP1 is always out there for like 90 seconds, the opponent cant clear it down, but there's no chance for Rangers to change on the fly |

Well if they are going to run that PP for that long, I think they need to put Fox and Tony out there together like last night. Those 2 looked great together
Leave Trouba off the PP keep him for PK's and even strength minutes |

They still need a guy with a howitzer from the point. Still passing way to much on it. Zib in the circle worked last year, last night they had him in the slot and they defended it very well. I’m not worried about the PP yet tho, it’s one of those things that wil eventually start clicking. |

If we got johanson with 3 mill retained, paying him 5 mill, I’d do a jig. A second line center at 28 yrs old for 5 more seasons, that’s a homerun imo. But you’re probably right that Nashville doesn’t necessarily have to move him, or want to. They’d probably want to move all 8 million, which I’m not willing to do Henrique certainly seems more likely of a target that could be had, which I’m fine with if would be him. The bottom line is we can’t go into next season without it being addressed.
My hope is Barron could be that guy, but you still have a wait and see approach with him, which we can’t do either. They need an established guy. If Strome could win faceoffs he’d be fine, but he can’t either. And Zib is only 45% - Slimtj100
Henrique as a 2c, hard pass. |

Trouba can be on the PK ONLY if he is not paired with JJ. When those two are paired on the PK......goal within 10 seconds. |

I think Tony D can handle the left side on the powerplay just fine, but my god, don't ever try him on left side when he has to defend in his own zone ever again
there isn't a 5 man powerplay unit that's going to make everyone happy though, and juts wait until Kravstov gets here

Why tho? Lol. Every player that gets brought up is a hard pass here. They need to win faceoffs for (frank)s sake |

They ALMOST had the PP working properly, but its still wrong.
Fox and DeAngelo clearly have nice chemistry on the PP from the blueline. However, I feel the set play should have been flipped.
Panarin should be have been on the left hash rather than the right and Fox should have been playing from the right side rather than the left. We need our best shooter in a position to shoot.
Sure, they had nice control of the puck, but it seemed like they were working far harder than they should have been to try to get into a position to shoot with all that time. - aecliptic
But it's not going to create more chances if Fox hardly ever attempts a shot. |

He looked to be shooting more lately. One play he made last night, and he got a great chance, he ignored everyone on the PP and went to the net |
