Myers @ 6mil
Schmidt @ 5.95
Hughes @ 6-8???
Hamilton @ 8-8,5???
Don't know how all that's possible???Uunless like PKer2 said we move Myers but lets be real, we all know that aint happening. - Brooks_Light
Don't be surprised to see Seattle sign Hamilton. |

Buying out Beagle saves 800,000, plus the player needed to replace him, at league minimum 750,000, so guys want to buy him out for a 50,000 savings? - Reubenkincade
I think most just want him gone, Regardless of the scenario |

Is Jake un-coachable or is it Green's fault? - A_SteamingLombardi
Jake is aloof & obtuse is my thought.
I’m good in sports & a motivator in my day but I’m at a loss on Jake bud. |

Dougie tops my list 8-8.5m 6-7yrs.
Savard my plan B 4/4m
Both are RHD - Nighthawk
With Myers and Schmidt, where can we fit him... plus, cap space |

He did sign Myers last off season - pker2theend
Five years not six 👀
I don’t mind Myers because he adds an element on the back end that the team did not and/or does not have...unfortunately it comes with some turnovers, etc. Dude needs to learn how to give up the puck to his d partner when exiting the d zone.
If they move him or Seattle takes him, I won’t be upset.

I’ve done capfriendly with Hamilton & RNH. It’s doable with bridges on Petey & Hughes & easy if only either of the UFA’s.. |

I get that, but it will only be one more season and are you getting something better.
He is well-respected in the dressing room and plays hard, plays decent defensively and comes to camp in great shape.
Those qualities aren't just something you get off the scrap pile of free-agency |

I'd rather take a 3rd and be done with the lost cause, he might be good one day if he finds the right coach. |

That is your opinion though. I think the right choice is to get entry level contracts of skilled players that are 20 years old the right to play. In two years Habs may regret giving Toffoli those extra years .
Hoglander is young and skilled and getting better every game. Chatfield's confidence is growing every game also.

Again I use capfriendly for various line ups. Schmidt is LHD lately with OJ sitting. Benn gone then OJ/Rathbone slot in if back to RD. |

Honestly don’t want either of those guys, decent in the regular season but blah in playoffs. Would rather keep adding gamers. |

Getting a 3rd would be easy & expedient yes. Still rather explore other options then that is a worst case fall back. |

Your Pom Poms are too noticeable tonight. If you would have said Tanev then I could see your point, but 4 years for a 28 year old won’t have the Habs regretting anything..
Betting on Hoglander was a big risk. |

That's almost 30 mil wrapped up in 4 defensemen - which is too much $$ IMO (especially for those 4 specific guys) & I think it would lead to flexibility issues elsewhere in the lineup - factoring in the term as well. |

My same Pom Poms will be front and waiving when they walk on Pearson next year and bring in Podkolzin.
My pom poms are pretty consistent year round . I don't deny it.
Also I was not replacing Toffoli with Hoglander that was a lucky coincidence . I have said it quite a few times whoever played second line RW was holding the spot until Podkolzin got here. |

Derek Stephan was cap dumped for a second rounder...don't tell me hes worth his 6.5mil/year. - pker2theend

Well the cap will be stagnant but will start to rise again in 2022 or more likely 2023. That said I said Savard is on my radar since Hamilton is likely staying in Carolina. The cap allocation works on capfriendly which I posted awhile ago on here. |
