I get that, but it will only be one more season and are you getting something better.
He is well-respected in the dressing room and plays hard, plays decent defensively and comes to camp in great shape.
Those qualities aren't just something you get off the scrap pile of free-agency

- Reubenkincade

All good points - I agree as well. I think people look at Beagle, Sutter, Rousell, Virtanen and Gaudette and just don't see the value in terms of impact vs. $$ - Then you have guys like Motte and ZacMac that IMO live up to their contracts and therefore we envision having 4 more Bot 6 guys of that mold. Then the qualities that you mentioned seem to get thrown by the wayside and the grass is greener mentality suddenly becomes the debate of the day.

Well the cap will be stagnant but will start to rise again in 2022 or more likely 2023. That said I said Savard is on my radar since Hamilton is likely staying in Carolina. The cap allocation works on capfriendly which I posted awhile ago on here.

I hate to disappoint you, but Edler will more than likely be back and Chatfield, Juolevi, will be here as well, so I don't see anyone coming in at the high or medium end.
If anything, maybe a solid 3rd line centre, if Lind doesn't play well in Utica at centre.(I believe Lind will be that 3rd centre)
So, basically it will be move out/around spare parts like Jake and Gaudette.

Maybe Boston would give us more if they are interested in him.

Possible yes but what do you want?

My same Pom Poms will be front and waiving when they walk on Pearson next year and bring in Podkolzin.

My pom poms are pretty consistent year round . I don't deny it.

Also I was not replacing Toffoli with Hoglander that was a lucky coincidence . I have said it quite a few times whoever played second line RW was holding the spot until Podkolzin got here.

- VANTEL

Pearson is now holding that spot for Pod possibly. Either Hog or Pod could be LW. If Pearson stays cheap then the 3rd line gets a big boost.

Savard is a much better option in terms of what will realistically happen. He's a solid defender, tough as nails & great leader. I think he'll be sought after but if we could land him for 4X3 that would be ideal. The only other UFA I really like is Oleksiak

I assumed Edler gone but I’ve done many ACGM’s using different signings.

I’ll do another one for anyone if they give me the signings.

Don't see why on earth NJ would do that

I think 4/4m is what will get him.

Agree but that's an opening offer & could be a bigger package.

Yup - I got a feeling Edler and Sutter could be back - hopefully both on 1 year deals.

I concur & hope only 1yr deals.
Might see a buy out if Lind keeps ascending & Pod needing a spot.

Again, I agree.
Edler because he is still a rock back there and Sutter because he helps defensively and can play centre, which is an organizational weak point.

I am not sure about buyouts anymore . Just because of the economy of the league.

Buyouts can save money when an ELC replaces him.

The only player that might get bought out would be Roussel.
Better off keeping him as depth.

I want a 3rd and an open spot for Podz when he gets here. I think I'm just tired of watching Jake fly down the wing and lose the puck plus he's up with Myers as the heaviest players on the team but you wouldn't know it by his play. I've much preferred Gaudette on the wing the last 2 games.

Again I use capfriendly for various line ups. Schmidt is LHD lately with OJ sitting. Benn gone then OJ/Rathbone slot in if back to RD.
- Nighthawk

As it stands for next season

Hughes Myers
OJ Schmidt
Raff Chatfield

Honestly, I'd rather beef up the LHD, unless we move Myers.

Pretty much. That said buyouts are unlikely & jettison for a bag of pucks or late pick.

Until now Benning has bought out one contract. If his ELCs keep working out I don't see a need to buy out someone .

I think next year they will let Pearson walk and replace him with Pod and move Jake and replace him with Lind. That might be it for the forwards . I think they will trade Loui for a pick on his last year.
