Trade him then. He's either stupid, doesn't care or both. - VanHockeyGuy
I don't really care what JB does with him. Green has the team he wants. |

1.2 mil for Hamonic for two games
That is perfectly fine though, I hope Chatty wins the spot. - VANTEL
They’re going to need 8-10 D to play regularly. I’m glad they found cap space for Hamsey. |

I'm sure if he sits long enough his agent will request a trade.

100%....Jake gets way too much flak, or is it flack, if you take his draft position away he's a good bottom six forward who can and does contribute offensively. His offensive numbers have gotten better and better every year. - Pacificgem
This is true, but, when you are in the bottom 6 you need to have defensive responsibilities and some grit, neither Jake nor Gaudette provide that. |

He's a good bottom six guy, but like mini says, no one really fits with Sutter and Sutter's playing really well in the 3C spot. |

With their firepower, the Jets, they'll outscore their defensive liabilities. I mean, look at their top six, and then add PLD, that's one of the best top six in the Scotia North or the entire NHL. - Pacificgem
Top 6 was shut down pretty good last night. PLD will certainly improve that though. The Jets have always had trouble with other teams heavy cycle though.
Most teams do have a problem with that though but Jet's have never been able to fix it.
Their D hast literally gone from Trouba, Buff, Morrissey, Myers, Chariot, Enstrom
to Morrisey, Pionk, Demelo, Beaileau, Forbet, Niku, Stanley.
That's a (frank)en down grade. |

I don’t buy that narrative. You need to be “tough” no matter how much ice time you get. Is JV grittier than Mark Scheifle? Don’t think so. |

Jakes numbers are around the 50% mark for Corsi which means they control the puck 50/50 when he's on the ice. He's never a big minus player. |

You can't bring up Aces every night and they just had a six day layoff, I do agree though, their defence is tragic. Although, their goaltending, at least last year, was of the Vezina quality. |

Jake does nothing. Very seldom notice him and I don't think I will miss him.

Trade him for another player who needs a new start.

If they trade him, it will be for another guy who's just going to sit most likely anyways. |

That's not true at all, perhaps this year he's having a slow start, however, as a role player he contributes very nicely in a bottom six role while not being a huge defensive liability.
I just get the sense everyone wants and expects him to be a 20 goal 50 point player, that's not him, it just isn't. If you get 15 goals 35 points out of him and he's not a major defensive liability he's doing his job.
I will agree though, he's been floating this year but it's a small sample size. |

I would just trade him for a draft pick. Canucks have two more forwards that will develop into good players so I would give the spot to them instead of another teams cast off player. |

I really enjoy watching Jake and his fly-by's and his shift changes when the puck is going into the defensive zone. |
