You can't bring up Aces every night and they just had a six day layoff, I do agree though, their defence is tragic. Although, their goaltending, at least last year, was of the Vezina quality. - Pacificgem
I've watched almost every Jet's game and the Jet's didn't look much different last night than most nights.
Sometimes the pucks go in the right net and others night they don't. Jet's have been down 3-1 for three straight games going into the 3rd. Last night they weren't able to score in the 3rd. |

Do you want another "floater" on the team? We already have Loui. - VanHockeyGuy
I just think people's expectations are unrealistic for him, he's a good bottom six forward. |

That's not true at all, perhaps this year he's having a slow start, however, as a role player he contributes very nicely in a bottom six role while not being a huge defensive liability.
I just get the sense everyone wants and expects him to be a 20 goal 50 point player, that's not him, it just isn't. If you get 15 goals 35 points out of him and he's not a major defensive liability he's doing his job.
I will agree though, he's been floating this year but it's a small sample size. - Pacificgem
Jake got most of his goals last year playing in the top 6 . He will not get that opportunity this year. He would probably score around 10 goals this year.
Canucks are doing exactly what they should be doing . They are giving very little attention to a player that gives very little effort.

That's the beauty of him though, he can move up and down the lineup, which he's already done this year by playing in the top six. He had 6 game winning goals last year, most on the team, plus, he added some pop on the second PP unit where he scored 6 power play goals. Fourth most on the team. |

I really enjoy watching Jake and his fly-by's and his shift changes when the puck is going into the defensive zone. - Reubenkincade

If they, Benning, keeps him around for the rest of this season, fine by me, I just don't think we see him around following this messed up season. |

True...because of Covid there's a huge disparity in the number of games each teams played. |

Think it's per game, the last 4 have lowered our GA, but it's still high. |

At some point everyone's replaceable, I don't know how long his leash is with Canucks management. If he had Hoglander's motor he'd be a much better player. He's talented but he's hockey dumb, no IQ for the game. Despite that, he can provide secondary scoring. |

I think he signed him to calm his head coach down a bit. Green was supposedly the one pleading for him for insurance. Turns out Chatty can play well after all. That is like found money.
I am also happy with MacEwen's game so far . I wasn't sure he knew what his role was suppose to be when he first got here. I thought he was going to be like Jake and think he was a scorer not a checker. More found money.
