The shots against per game is troubling. I'm worried about overall fatigue for the goalies as the season wears on.

LM should chime in but facing that many shots per game in combination with a condensed schedule is something to monitor. That goes especially for a young goalie like demko. If only from a mental standpoint, this season is going to be grueling on the goaltenders.

Green on the shots given up in the last three games: We gave up a fair amount of shots and would like to cut them down. The other team also throws a lot of pucks on net. It's something we're keeping an eye on but I'm not concerned.

I noticed at least five shots that that were lobbed at the goalie that had a super low chance of being dangerous . It was more of a line change dump in. Scoring chances are more of a concern and there were enough of those .

That's good.

As Marwood pointed out, the high shots against is brand new.

The all-star coach isn't worried. I shouldn't complain about it.

Goalies are there to make saves.

Gaudette should stay on the wing, trade Jake for what ever JB can get.

I wonder what Bubble Demko thinks, overall nice performance by both goalies last 3 games 116 shots against 3 goals.
- Makita

He's probably resting right now. Getting ready to carry the team tomorrow night. Doesn't matter who they're playing against 3 goals on 116 shots is great puck stopping.

The competition between the Tenders is a good thing. Holtby says '(frank) this I'm not giving up the net yet' and has a good game. Hopefully Holtby finds form under Clarke and Demko just runs with the opportunities he's been given.

Absolutely it is, I get a laugh when people diminish who we play, still an NHL team, with NHL players shooting 116 pucks at the net.

Also i was wondering what our new poster Bubble Demko thoughts were, he seems knowledgable about goal tending like you, it’s good to have the perspective of two knowledgable guys to draw on.

I haven't been too concerned about the team through the start to this point. I think the way they play D is an adventure most times. The quality of the chances they give up mean the tenders can't have an off night that we have to win 7-6. I think that maybe it's time to really look at Baumer and see if a change could be made. I am not too sure who could be a good coach for the D but this isn't just lately it's a pattern going back to the bubble(lots of shots and chances).

Does anyone know who could be a fit and is available?

Dan Hamhuis is familiar with the Canucks Nashville and Dallas . He has seen a variety of styles was a very good Dman.
I know the dislike for old Canuck Alumni in here but fuk it. He also just recently left the game.

Jay Bouwmeester is another guy who was a really good Dman and recently left the game. Cgy St.L Fla

That pass though. I wish they'd get rid of the trapezoid already. It never made sense to me to get rid of the 2 line pass, then put an area where the Goalies can't play it. Especially for a league trying to create offense and unclog the neutral zone. I loved uncorking that long pass from the corner to a cherry picking forward. It's an awesome play when you hit it right. Disastrous when you don't.

Demmer can play the puck well, just not quite on Holby's level. I used to panic every time Marky tried to.

You kind of gave the reasoning right there. You guys (goaltenders) became too good at clearing the puck and throwing it into the neutral zone.
For every beauty pass, there are 20 'flip it outs' into the neutral zone from the corner.

As a team that likes the dump and chase, we should like the trapezoid.

OK. But don't you think good coaches could figure out a way to counter that and adapt? Dump and chase has been around since well before the trapezoid and was pretty much used to the same effect.

It's a difficult skill to master handling a puck with a Goalie stick wearing a blocker and glove, which is why I'd like to see more of it.

I agree with you especially the point about "good coaches.".

Seriously though getting rid of a "skill" used by goaltenders seems wrongheaded. It was innovative as it made teams have to adapt defensively but also gave the possibility of "trick" plays etc. It was just another evolution of the game.

Rather than making a rule, teams should have been forced to adapt. Adapt or die.

I don’t normally read Canucks Army but they have an interesting article for Lefty. Bo Horvat is 2nd in the league for goal scoring since Jan 1, 2020. Only behind Ovie (2 goals back). He is a legit 1C (I mean 3 C super elite )

I wonder how many GMs still consider him an arrogant butt plug?

Anyways I don't think either of us care enough to give a sh1t about Gillis or his landing spot.

Now the perfect time for Gilles to take us over the top. He knows how to sign UFA to good contracts. Keep Benning as draft master.

Sometimes he is good sometimes he is not. The last two games he is showing some awkward moves that are creating chances in the other end.

He is a really big body , I wonder how he would do in front of the net on PP2
