So is Kuemper going to be traded because Arizona looks to cut cost as much as possible? Nobody will pay fair value for him now. Closer to deadline he forms a solid twosome in goal unless he goes to a couple of teams that need a goaltender. And don't say Edmonton because I think their biggest problem is that their dmen collectively kind of are not good.
Well we have a big storm and after we shovel out maybe no Blackhawks due to covid. All we can do is just look forward to hockey returns in a week or two. I am not too confidant about the 5pm announcement today
I am kind of excited that Kaiser could be another Mitchell only better. How long before he turns pro anyone's guess. I suggest he plays at least one more season collegiately.
Late add: with Kaiser i bet he is another lightweight who needs to get stronger. So I am cautiously optimistic but how many years away is he, really?
Is the Maple Leafs M Reilly the best skating dman in the league. Among descent rated dmen which precludes ex Leaf Gardiner - jhawk59
So glad the Kuemper rumors to the Hawks never came to fruition. Even though nothing is cemented yet, I like the goalie competition between Lankinen, Subban, and Delia with Lankinen the clear front runner so far.
As for Kaiser, pre-pandemic he likely would have played at least 3 years of college but now circumstances are changing and think he could go pro after his sophomore year.
Although they are on ATOs, fellow 2020 defensemen draftees Krutil and Phillips are in Hogs camp and could possibly stay there due to the need for numbers on the Rockford backline.
They could very well get cut and return to juniors which definitely isn't the worst thing in the world for them. |

FYI. Kaiser is much bigger than you would think. He is 18 and obviously needs to add strength but he is no smurf.
He looks taller than what he is listed.
Playing PP1 and PK for one of the better NCAA programs in the country is impressive. |

I just want to stress a point about Kaiser. I realize I brought up several things in my post. So although you didn't respond to his being a lightweight, I am sure you concur that here is another young dman whom has to gain strength to play in a men's professional league (NHL). Which tempers my enthusiasm somewhat. Eventually though Kaiser holds promise to become a top NHL dman |

Thanks elbows for the information. Sounds like Kaiser would not be averse to elbowing the opponent. |

Kurashev needs to be in the line-up. Otherwise this whole season is a waste. Barely making the playoffs is the worse thing this team can do. - Elbows15
Hey you’re talking to the Tank master, you don’t need to convince me that being just barely above average is a bad thing lol |

NHL tonight
Some things I noticed
All these rookies slot in lineups, some their first games. Names you never heard and or probably forgot from their draft b year. And some later round choices having a go. Bet wiz remembers the names and maybe what roundvthey were drafted.
For Florida the OT winner from Heponeimi. Assist to Duclair. Duclair signed up with Queeneville again.
Dallas lost first time after four victories despite missing top players due to injuries. Calgary players hold players only meeting, then blank Montreal 2-0 with Jake Allen giving C Price a day of rest.
Eric "Gus" returneth to lineup 16:27 TOI. Both Gus and Ghost played.
Sure some on this board love to see Maple Leafs loose. To Edmonton in OT. McDavid with winner and three points among four Edm goals. Koekkoeck only 14:52 TOI |

Sam Bennett (Flames) and Victor Mete (Canadiens) have requested trades today. Both are represented by the same agent Darren Ferris.
Also, an AHL preseason game between the Henderson Silver Knights (Golden Knights) and San Jose Barracuda (Sharks) has been called off after two periods due to COVID concerns. |

Kaiser is listed at 6'0" and 173 lbs as a college freshman. Not worried about his size. I believe Boqvist and Beaudin were drafted around that weight and are an inch shorter.
At any rate, Kaiser will physically mature and add more weight and muscle naturally and through extensive training. |

I take Bennett he be worth a flyer after his tournament play last year . Be a much better project then Nylander .He a gritty kid with some good hands just has to be consistent |

New blog! A preview to what is a tentative match between the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets due to health concerns after Carpenter and Beaudin have been added to the COVID-19 protocol list.
Plus, lineup considerations for the recent 11F/7D or if Colliton reverts back to the standard 12F/6D.
