Why does it HAVE to be LAF? Is Auston Matthews the captain? Johnny Gaudreau? Was Patrick Kane ever captain? Fools. Why add that pressure to a young player anyway. - Kooleus
Maybe its not LAF. Maybe its Fox, but the list is a very short one as far as who will take over as captain.
But I see it trending like Landeskog when Avs put the C on him. |

well all they did was put Tony D on waivers, other than they haven't said anything about it - jimbro83
Which is a pretty significant move no? I mean if your goal was to trade him for something of value this doesn't accomplish it. If your goal is to put him on waivers for a contract buyout for violation of rules wouldn't you say so like when the Kings did it to Mike Richards? To just throw him on waivers and let it sit and fester makes it a bigger deal than it is, especially in our market. As mentioned if they thought this was an issue why sign him for 2 years and not just walk away?

If Tony was playing the same caliber of hockey as last year, this likely never happens. He has sucked this year. 1 point and a -6 in 6 games is just plain bad. The eye test is even worse.
People can defend the character issues all they want, but nobody can defend how terrible he has been.
My guess is management knows he'll clear waivers and put him on the taxi squad or send him to the AHL as a wake up call. If he gets claimed, shed ourselves of a decent size contract and make room for another player (Nils or Schneider). |

well he had a great year last year, but just speaking hockey wise, he lost the QB job on the right point to Adam Fox and he's become redundant because he just doesn't work on his defensive weaknesses
things change, I am just hoping we get 4.8 million in free cap space in a couple of hours

Why would they say anything until he had been claimed or cleared waivers? Yesterday, Quinn said the organization would have something to say in 24 hours |

Not irrevocable waivers- just plain old waivers. Its being blown out proportion. They are just sending him down plain and simple. He might get recalled or he might not. If he fails to show to Hartford- then they might be able to void his contract. |

This is his last chance. Like I said to your brother this is a big slice of humble pie to shut him up and just play hockey. |

Both the left and the right live in their own truth bubbles. I remember when you were not supposed to talk about religion and politics with friends. The world was so much better when that rule applied. Tony D is superfluous. Nobody will claim him and he will be Back with the team next year just like Brendon Smith in 2019. Those waiting for the Rangers to make an enlightening statement will be waiting forever. |

the thing about that is that Tony D's buyout is miniscule, so if nobody claims him I think they'd go that route
especially if Zac Jones and Nils Lundkvist are here

Pretty much lol. Only thing I really gathered from it is Quinn is fed up with him more than anyone. And that Tony is funny |
