If it wasn't for the 2-3 bone headed plays he has a game, like the missed back hit or the dive into the crease for no reason yesterday, he'd be getting G like comparisons.

Between Trouba, Lindgren and Bitetto, there is some serious snarl on the blueline. Even Miller has the ability to lean into players. And I like it a lot!

I love ya Bean, but I should shank you in the neck for that sentence.

I knew I'd ruffle some feathers with that comp. I get why Trouba drives people crazy. Like I said, if he didn't have those stupid plays, he'd be like G. He's the poster boy for needing to simplify his game.

Update.

1st 2 periods awful. Third period was real good. Kreider, Lemieux and Rooney had great games. Rooney should be the C.

You're welcome Jan

Edit: Trouba sucks

- mdw7413

I would say they played very well on the back end of the 2nd period which carried over to the 3rd period.

(frank)in FINALLY somebody took advantage of all the great point work Fox does on the powerplay, that was a helluva deflection by Kreider
- jimbro83

Fox definitely told Kreider on the bench that he was gonna take that shot.

I get what you are saying. They are in the same style. G was a beast though and never took a game off. Trouba imo not so much.

What a smooth play by Fox on the game winner, just has so much patience with the puck and finds an opening. This comparison of him and Tony D are wack because people forget this is only Fox's second year in the league and he's already this good.

Took Tony 4 years to do that. You do realize Fox had 42 last year.

I've never seen someone so poised with the puck as Fox is. He makes those quick stickhandling decisions that blow me away at times.

With all points staying in the division, there shouldn’t be a loser point. Should of just had regular OT and if it’s a tie then 1 point each and 2 for a win if someone scored and that’s it. On Saturday, all 4 games from the division went to OT, everyone got a point.
- Rangers99

NHL is like Oprah. You get a point! and you get a point! And you! Yes you get a point!

We should be able to separate their skills though and you can't honestly say you think Tony D is as skilled of a player as Fox. Production wise, sure, I get what you're saying.

On pace for 40 points in a 56 games season, he can actually play defense, rarely makes a mistake in his own end and has really good fancy stats. Plus he would have had way more points last year if he was on first powerplay.

EDIT: I would say an extra 10 pts on PP1

Tony isn't playing for the Rangers anymore, does it really matter....?

How bout we talk about the bottom 6 actually playing well and the top 6 struggling so far. Like a complete flip flop of last season

That’s what’s frustrated me the most this season. Not necessarily a single player, but how as a whole they don’t play 60 minutes. They look like the Harlem globetrotters for a period and the Kazakhstan Olympic team the next period.

You're right, time to move on.

I noticed that you've stayed relatively quiet on the situation, btw...

Ya has nothing to do with Deangelo playing with Smith and JJ and Fox getting Lindgren. This isn’t an attack on Fox, the kid is great, but Deangelo wasn’t as bad defensively as people made him out to be.

People have strong views on it. I think people know where I stand. I like him. He brings emotion. I think its a mistake, but I can't change it. Now if I had won the megamillions a couple weeks ago I might have bought the Rangers and this would be a lot different.
