Also sooner than later we need to address Gorton’s job as GM, on paper it looks amazing but there are some trades that have been duds, Graves to start, Stephan and Mcdonagh trades are complete busts, only thing I can say about those trades is at least we aren’t paying big money to aging players, he gets zero credit for Kakko and Laf, no GM should get credit for winning a lottery
- KreiderBomb

How is the Stepan trade a bust?
You can't look back 4 years and say that because our assets didn't pan out.
You can slag our scouting and coaching for those things, but it's completely different.
Gorts moved an aging player we wouldn't have wanted to pay what he would command and got a 7th overall pick and a young player with HUGE upside.
The fact that the pick didn't work out has nothing to do with making the trade.
And if losing ADA is such a travesty now, why should Gorts not be celebrated for managing to land him in the first place.
You are trying to have your cake and eat it too.

I would’ve been to, he got sat for 2 games bc he slammed the penalty box door. If that’s anyone else showing that emotion it’s great, it’s what we’re missing, we need more of it etc. but bc it was Deangelo he got benched for 2 games. They had it out for him and he lost, that’s what it comes down to.
- nyrangers9479

He was benched for one game because of his actions (taking an extra penalty for arguing with a ref). The second game was because the Rangers were coming off a 4-0 dominant win and the coach decided to go with the same roster.

Yes, there needs to be emotion. Almost as important is responsibility, which ADA appears to have lacked.

What bothers me is all the talk DeAngelo being a terrible person, being nothing but trouble is he really though? No drugs, alcohol or police issues, I feel like things are getting really soft when we’re considering Tony DeAngelo as “trouble”
- KreiderBomb

He can't check his ego and be part of a team.
I didn't hear anyone in the organization denounce him as a person.

yeah getting the 7th overall pick for Stepan before his NTC clause kicked in was great

it's just that they flubbed the pick, that shouldnt hurt the trade

conversely taking Lundkvist with the pick they got in the McDonagh trade doesn't make that poor trade any better

it was reported St Louis wants a first rounder for Dunn
- jimbro83

No thanks, unless it’s a 2022 1st I’m not trading this year’s first for anyone who’s available right now

I agree with this. Might take an extra pick then, but that's alright with me so long as it's in the later rounds.

He's a guy who when he can't get his way, sucks out. You are a professional athlete and act that way being paid millions of dollars? Yes we don't know everything but to waive him and have him not play anymore shows you what kind of person he is no matter how many points he got last year. Look at his social media too, why did he shut it down?

Right. So, we are going forward with the information provided by those who do know. You seem to be looking for some conspiracy against the guy that everyone involved is saying is at fault.

At the end of the day, his bosses had enough and they fired him for whatever reason. Maybe it was a difference in personalities. Maybe it was a difference in attitude. Whatever it was, the people paying ADA his 5 million dollar salary had enough. The speculation as to why is bullpoop.

Once Nils, Schneider and Robertson come, he’ll be long forgotten about. Jones I think too.

Now that Smith is out, Rangers need to give Libor Hajek a real chance. They need to see if he has any chance of being part of the future.

Would be sweet if they gave Tarmo or Rykov a chance too. Lets see if one of these young guys can step up.

I’m just saying the entire this is overblown, he’s a good player who’s outspoken and that’s primarily his biggest issue
