Once Nils, Schneider and Robertson come, he’ll be long forgotten about. Jones I think too.
- Slimtj100

This is true, Trouba can be moved then

NMC until 2024, I think eventually he could be buyout candidate but he ain't going anywhere for few years

it's disappointing how offensively challenged he is

What’s worse is Pionk has kept improving, might be another trade to throw on the fire

I’m just saying the entire this is overblown, he’s a good player who’s outspoken and that’s primarily his biggest issue
- KreiderBomb

Oh, I agree it's overblown.
But, do you really think that this is step 1 from the Rangers?
You blew up, we're waiving you!
He's a good player who is unable to restrain his opinions enough to get along with teammates. 99% of players talk about teammates like brothers. This guy, apparently, can't figure out how to get into the coaches good graces through effort and being coachable.
Should we really be that upset to see him go?
Realistically, we probably won't replace all the points he might score in the line-up. But, I think there is every chance we prevent more goals against.

I would call the Stepan trade a complete wash

The McDonagh trade they got killed, but he absolutely kicked ass on the Nash and Brassard trades

- jimbro83

Hajek looked good in the short time before he was injured. Maybe he recovers that form.

The guy got suspended twice for words....not cheap shots...not fighting etc. Have you ever heard of that??? Also he didnt get a penalty for slamming the door it’s what he said while doing it. So obviously the guy can’t restrain his mouth or emotions. So maybe it’s good riddance.

Pionk was an afterthought when we acquired Trouba.
The fact that he blew up after leaving is not the GM's fault. Coaches, perhaps, but no one hear saw that coming.
I would also say that he flaws not withstanding, at the time we needed a Trouba more than we needed a Pionk-type player.

Trouba was a beast last night on the penalty kill and while they held the lead, he's extremely physical, they really have no one else like him

I am surprised how little gifts he has offensively though, so that remains a disappointment for that money

Trouba tries to do to much. Him and Miller will be a great pair once they get more games together

Problem is his giveaways. He had 3 glaring ones last night, one directly responsible for a goal. And god knows how many since the start of the season. And if he is caught out of position, forget, he doesn't have the foot speed to catch up.

He's great on the PK because he is pretty much stationary. The amount he gets paid he should be way better at every facet of the game.

Trouba is always going to be out there against other teams top players, the giveaways are gonna happen

I am not worried about that stuff, I just think for the money his lack of production is a problem

Also, let's not conveniently forget that Gorton is responsible for trading for Fox, got Strome for Spooner, got a prospect and 2 picks for Adam McQuaid, Darren Raddysh for Peter Holland, 5 assets (4 of which we still control) for Miller and McDonough (who we didn't want to pay) and pulled the trigger on trading up to select Miller and Schneider.
I accept that he is human and will not win every trade. I also feel good about where we are overall and that is largely due to these moves and more.

the problem with the Tampa trade is just how much it was reported that he lusted over Howden and Hajek, like he would do anything to get them and then we were pretty excited about geting them in return

Sure if the giveaways were forced. His are just blatant. Did you see the reverse hit he tried to do on Malkin, while he had the puck and then fell down??? Who the (frank) does that!?

Yeah, he produced points pretty much from day 1 for the Jets. So, everyone expected an upward trend. But, it seems he is what he is offensively.

It feels like Hajek hasn’t gotten nearly enough of a chance. I don’t understand how he doesn’t play over Smith or JJ. Now Bitetto. Is he still hurt or something?
