Something definitely happen Vin for Christ’s sake. This doesn’t happen for no reason (waived). And right now I’d bet whatever money I have, which isn’t a lot lol, that Tony is at fault. In your warped Trumpet cult mind, it’s a conspiracy. Take bupropion, I do, it helps - Slimtj100
so tony could have went off at 40 - and took at too far.
but you posting these nonsese rumors from these twitter idiots looking for clicks w/ no proof whatsoever, idk seems silly.
i honestly don't care whatsoever what he did yesterday, or the weeks/months leading up to this. im just furious - just tossed away an asset - someone who we were on here talking about including in a (frank)ing PLD deal |

The last thing I’ve heard honestly is the incident in Juniors, aside from being a conservative what has he done to be considered “controversial” or a bad teammate, I think you should ask Mika or Panarin before Adam Herman - KreiderBomb
You of all people should know he sucks, you think everyone does. Your biased and hypocritical because you support him based solely on his political beliefs. That’s all you care about in this situation. Go suck his dyck |

My view was to trade him while his value was high. He had one good season and I didn’t see that being the norm. Plus ya know the whole logjam.
Don’t really care about his views, but there’s obviously poop that has happened behind the scenes for the team to make this decision. |

Exactly. They didn’t release Georgy.
The rumors are whatever, and we’ll probably never really know.
I think it’s would be pretty nuts if the Penguins sign him and he plays tomorrow |

couldn't find a suiter coming off his best season - makes you wonder if A) they were overvaluing him or B) there were rumors going around then about issues.
if b) and the rangers still signed him? oh boy |

Not only that but gave him a 2 year deal. That's what makes no sense to me. If they couldn't trade him coming off a season where he was top 5 amongst defensemen in points, what made them think they could trade him this season. Should have either just walked away from the arbitration or gave him a one year deal. It's going to suck to have to carry almost 4 million in dead space next year if he isn't claimed. That's on Gorton |

I’m no expert and this is random poop I’ve seen online, but it sounds like terminating his contract might be a possibility. Don’t know all the rules around that though.

Tied for 4th last season in points, quite the opposite of sucks, think he’s an elite point scorer on the blue line, they don’t grow on trees

It’s fake news that two teams dumped Deangelo before the Rangers did. Nope, didn’t happen🙄 - Slimtj100
It didn’t.....he got traded.......what we’re doing now is dumping him |

Someone I bet will be willing to. A veteran team that he won’t feel he can pull whatever it is he’s pulling with the youngest team in the league. Put him on a team like the Pens or WSH and I guarantee the locker room stuff doesn’t continue. When stuff like this happens it’s because there’s a lack of leadership. Not having a captain might be a part of it, someone to step in and be the leader in the locker room, instead we have 4 somewhat captains that aren’t captains but we’ll pretend that they’re captains. Do u think if Ovechkin or Chara were in the room this nonsense would be going on? The team lost its 2 most tenured guys in Hank and Staal and its showing. |

Yea so they didn’t want him anymore.
He was a throw in in the Stepan trade. 3rd org that gave him up
You guys can defend him irdc, I just wanna move on without him. We honestly won’t need him. It’s just dumb that they brought him back in the first place |

Love how it’s always one persons fault in every incident. ADA gets punched by a Swiss cheese goalie for wearing one mask instead of like 2,3,or 4! Like is really going to help. More than one mask is like “double wrapping” a hot dog and praying “beans” don’t spill out! Cmon! Regardless of political propaganda and what not, adding more masks to your face after a hockey game will make anyone wanna just wear one mask. Heavy breathing alone with one mask can be annoying but yet let’s add more says the goalie standing around blue paint as pucks fly by him into the net! So the person who threw the punch gets a “maintenance” day, while the victim of assault (as of right now didn’t initiate contact) gets shown the door and is celebrated by some is quite laughable! But being from western part of NY I understand why they applaud it! Over there on the eastern part of NY is the reason our state is in such turmoil! Keep voting in the same idiotic moron and praying things will change and they only get worse! Lol! This will tell ya waiving ADA will do nothing to solve their problems! Only make them worse! |

Wasnt one of the ideas behind the two year deal that he'd be exposed in the expansion draft? Which makes a certain kind of sense. If the Rangers went to arbitration, they were probably going to pay more than 4/per, so they locked him up for two, almost certainly intending upon leaving him available for Seattle.. right?
Honestly, I dont fault the Rangers here. I fault Tony DeAngelo. The Rangers gave him every opportunity to change, to grow up, to be a better person and he just didnt.

Seriously prior to this altercation what did he do? Did he get in trouble with coaches? Police? Assault a woman? Drugs?
It’s amazing what and who gets away with garbage, his worst was he tweeted support of the President, what an animal, how dare he? |

I'm going to quote from Rick Carpiniello's article on The Athletic:
DeAngelo, who was on the ice for four of Pittsburgh’s five goals, was on notice for a while – from his controversial social media posts through his “maturity” issues that got him benched at least twice in the last three seasons – including a two-game vacation for an unnecessary unsportsmanlike conduct penalty on opening night.
and then later in the column:
DeAngelo came to the Rangers with a reputation as a hot head, and for missteps along the way, as he was suspended twice in the OHL for violating the league’s harassment, abuse and diversity policy and again with the Coyotes for abuse of an official.
So, whatever happened the other night did not happen in a vacuum. Its not just a one-off. |

You keep bringing up the political thing but I really don’t see anyone on here claiming he was waived for tweeting his undying love for the former president. Not sure where you’re getting that.
He’s got a history of childish/toxic behavior and it was clear it wasn’t something he’d outgrown when he was benched a few games ago. Also, he’s played pretty poorly and somehow got into a fight with georgi, who by all accounts seems like a pretty low key dude. Don’t think he has many friends in the locker room either, which at this point is speculation I know. To be clear, all speculation is not wrong or bad especially when it is informed by history and context. If it indeed turns out to be that he is at fault, it doesn’t somehow reflect poorly on you or anyone else who may share his opinions on non hockey things unless you make it so, so maybe try not taking it so personally?
We’ll probably find out more tomorrow. Just based on watching what you’re writing in here it feels like you’re arguing points people aren’t really making.
By all means correct me if I’m wrong on anything. Peace and love |

Obviosly, NYR would've tried to trade him, if they could, but there is something that's not allowing them to do so. IDK , but it might have something to do w/ legalities.? Who knows what happened in that locker room, and what was done. More will come out. Gorton isn't stupid. Gotta wait until more info comes out. I can see the boys coming together for next came. Addition by subtraction - rrentz
Boy I like drama, enjoy the storm.
