Can’t get to the Malik report on my phone, will try my laptop tomorrow.
See, Larkin gets it. Most of the kids around him get it. Would love to be a fly on the wall of that locker room to see just what goes on after a game like tonight. Now, I don’t advocate ignoring pain, 19 years of rugby and too many surgeries to count taught me that. But Larkin’s showing heart. Much like Ryan’s tenacity, heart is contagious.
This is going to be painful to watch. Our hearts will be broken, we’ll swear (Lord knows how much I already do that 😑🤭😬🤐), may even throw some things at the TV, but I’ll stop watching the Wings when you pry the remote out of my cold, dead hand. These are NOT The Dead Things of the late 70s & all of the 80s...We have excellent senior leadership, stud players....and hope. And damnit, that’s all we need.
Let’s. Go. Red. Wings 😠 - mcmastermike1968
I love watching Rugby, but you’ve got to be nuts to play! They do surgeries on the field!! Larkin is the heart and soul for sure. Bertuzzi is right there. Those two skate through walls |

Nice writing JL, gives one food for thought. When we get our guys out of the COVID cell, we may have some better results. But is this season just an exercise towards getting a better draft pick or is it about winning more games? Seems that most of players chose the former. - HenryHockey
The fine line is “give a crap”. Ottawa is below us in overall right now. Not that the lottery does Detroit any favors. NYR could finish bottom 5. Whatever the result, do the players believe in Yzerman? Yes. But we need that belief on the ice too |

Another member of our favorite transitional first round (2014) is in the mill. Jake Virtanen has been scratched multiple times. Speculation would see him go to Montreal for Mete |

The wings should immediately sign Deangelo he is a big upgrade. He sounds like to me that he stands for what he believes. Which shows he has good qualities someone you would want to go in to battle with. |

"It's only a flesh wound..." Yeah, I've stitched up some cracked open heads, split eye brows, busted lips.....grease up the stitched up wound n kick 'em back on the pitch!!
Larkin, Bert, I think you could include Ryan in that group more & more each day. We have a good core group, they need some leading them they can believe in. |

There's a difference between some "..to go into battle with you." and someone who battles YOU.

There are still other clubs that will take him, Detroit needs to claim him and send him to say Winny for Perrault and a 1st, and retain $1M on ADA.....It's a matter of asset management and a way to capitalize on the situation. If anyone can do it it Stevie Y! |

I dunno, H2. From my seat, having had "bad eggs" under my command, the negativity can spread like squamous cell carcinoma and infect the whole lot. IF, again a BIG IF, The Captain would sign him, the riders on the contract would be immense and VERY explicit, along with team actions/termination if any rider was missed. IF he could demonstrate he was a good reclamation project, played to his potential, etc... he could fetch a decent return, but his off-ice actions will limit his marketability......

I don’t think Blashill will be able to Coach ADA. Let’s not give Blashill any more things to mess up. |

That's a good question. If Blash struggles with what he has now (and has been for 7yrs or so...), what happens if you add a more complex personality to the mix? Kinda impacts the complexity of the discussion, T. Good call.....

Claim ADA, retain $1.5M and trade him for either Vertanin or Bennet and a 2nd

I see what you're saying. But that's all contingent upon getting someone to buy off on the trade...…….

I watched some games last summer. One of the players was hurt, and they don’t let you leave the field until the current possession ends. Doctor is working on him the whole time. I watched one of those big boys reset his own knee. Of course it’s on youtube now. They started a reduced roster league, totally different game with fewer players. I got into that and Lacrosse at the same time. Both impressive |

Unfortunately appropriate. If they’re going to go Elton John, at least play “I’m still standing”. We need a shift in attitude |

I just got back from a volleyball tournament in Indianapolis. People have lost their damn minds. I've never seen so many security guards in my life. I took pictures. At least a half dozen at every closed exit. I guess there are a lot of people trying to break in and watch kid's volleyball. They had guards enforcing the roped off areas to make sure the flow of traffic was one certain way. Guards to make sure nobody stopped while walking...people had to keep moving. Guards to make sure people didn't cross over from one side, to use a restroom on the other side. Then, all concessions were closed and the sink faucets only had hot water (the players loved that). They did have a few vending machines with $4.00 per bottle of Dessani (cash only). The kids could only come in at exact times, the rest had to stand outside in the freezing rain. The line for parents to get it was 45 minutes, again in the freezing rain, and we could only go in 10 minutes before our kid played, but the kids had to be there 45 minutes before for warmups. Still better than many states, who prohibit children from extracurricular activities, but it was bizarre. |
