I am not talking about tanking, I am talking about inserting one or 2 of the taxi squad guys, you know the ones that would have been called up from the AHL, when injuries or poor play happened.

JV and Gaudette came in again. OJ will be next.

But, but...the 4 game winning streak.

Also, the systems on this team, for several years have put players in bad spots, where they are last man back and keep getting puck when pressure is on, with no other outlets for that player, eg, the Gaudette miscues.
There are so many over the course of a season that are such similar mistakes, that most of the players are doing, but I am sure some will say, it is the players having a brainfart.

So change the coaching staff. If they aren't moving forwards and learning, coaching staff is part of the problem.

MTL is looking like Dallas of last season, tight defence and capitalizing on other teams mistakes.

I'd rather play like TB

Absolving the Coach for how they play under his leadership is even more fucked. I'd love to explain it to you, but I'm not in a "lead the Camel to water" mood.

Every game is just mistakes?! It’s not the other team creating pressure and playing in good position? How about the same team four times? Weird position to blame “mistakes” every loss, if it’s the same mistakes i think the problem is bigger than that. Montreals speed/pressure up front is a huge problem for this shaky defensive group.

And finally there is the answer, I wish we had a Claude Julien style of coach, or Trotz.

They looked great against the jets, that was impressive. But ya, Montreal just exposes our young players with the pressure. They make mistakes happen, it’s not just some coincidence

Brutal effort tonight but good news is that it was all about the effort. Boys will be back and will get the win tomorrow - getting the split is all that is needed.

2-1-1 the rest of the road trip. After this week the schedule evens out and they can focus on being consistent - looked pooped tonight.

That's the rub its a preference of system concepts. Those 2 use a safe defense first simple systems playbook. Why those who like them are against the up tempo complex systems play Green uses. He's a gambler so its all or nothing when not executed properly.

It takes a lot of work to get it right. When working it is beautiful hockey in motion. When not it can look like chaos.

LOL professional coaches just tell their players to go out and play pond hockey. Your lack of hockey knowledge is amusing... but you'd have to be not f*cked in the head to get it.

You mean Victor Mete who cried for a trade, placed in the lineup, and went -2.

Pass, more occupational hazards for the D.

His defensive numbers are good outside of that one game sample. Fast player, defends well.

For those of you questioning the goalie decision, this is from the Athletic:

Understanding the goalie decision

Thatcher Demko is on an absolute tear. He’s playing his best hockey and was just named the NHL’s first star of the week.

Why not start him Monday then, many fans wondered.

Well, the Canucks know they have to use both goalies on the back-to-back. And if you look back at Green’s history, he has a tendency to save his best goalie for the game that he thinks is most winnable. A couple of years ago when Jacob Markstrom and Anders Nilsson were in the crease and there was a heavy stretch of games demanding both goalies, Green would always throw Nilsson out against the tougher opponent. The theory was to use Markstrom against the easier opponent in the more winnable game rather than potentially waste his fastball against a tough opponent.

The same logic applies here.

Green knows that he has to use both goalies, sized up Montreal as being the better team and decided to push his best goalie against the Canadiens on Tuesday when the Canucks either get Jake Allen or a tired Carey Price.

He decided to use his best goaltending option against their inferior one. That’s why Holtby started the first game of the mini-series on Monday.
