Was it an issue last season? That top line was what, top 3 in the NHL in shots and goal differential and corsi and all that?

I think it is more execution and mindfulness this year than anything.

- NewYorkNuck

Yes, it was.
I brought it up one game and was told that it isn't costing the team, as this line was awesome(paraphrasing), so I left it alone.
If this team wants to move to the next level, the roles and responsibilities need to be defined a little better. Imo

We know it's not coaching according to our resident super fan.

I disagree. 1) Prezzy 2) the bottom six (plus lui and bear) are the reason the top six can’t be better.

While I take some responsibility for some of the signings, Sutter, Myers, Sven, I was overruled on the signings of Beagle, Roussel and LE. It's unfair to place that wreath at my feet.

I remember a few years back, when people said converting Linden to centre would never work and when other said converting Burns to a defenseman would never work.
What do I know though, I am just a long suffering fan, that wants to see change, when things aren't going well.
Yes, I know they just had a 4 game winning streak, 3 of which were against the powerhouse, Ottawa Senators.

- Reubenkincade

Burns was a D before he was a forward.

I think they should go shirtless next game, that's a change I could get behind.
If they're going to play like children, may as well play shirts vs no shirts?

I had a dream last night that we were allowed to see people and I met up with friends to watch the game, and Demko saw over 40 shots in the 1st period.

And Hughes has been a rover,so it is an easy transition.

thanks man.

I am currently re-watching all the seasons of parks and rec when the kids go down for the night and when the Canucks aren't playing. I must say, this placed needs a Chris Traeger figure to rub off on some posters. Everyone in here is so angry at each other lol

I found this interesting while reading this morning, NHL scoring really catapulted during the 80's & 90's, but defence wins Championships now

NHL players who hit 500 assists in decade, last 6:

60s: Mikita

70s: Clarke, Esposito, Dionne, Lafleur, Ratelle, Perreault

80s: Gretzky, Stastny, Coffey, Savard, Federko, Messier, Kurri, Bourque, Hawerchuk, Trottier, Smith, Francis

90s: Oates, Gretzky, Francis, Jagr, Sakic, Gilmour, Yzerman, Recchi, Bourque

00s: Thornton

10s: Giroux

I played your game, threw Hughes on the top line and Myers on the second, should have benched Miller as he's been Roussel bad thus far...

But how many of them scored a lacrosse goal? That’s what I thought.

Has anyone ever scored one of those at the NHL level? Crosby didn't even get his on net last night.

You know, Pearson Sutter Virtanen might not be a bad third line.

Backstrom also hit 500 in the 10s. 6 other players were at/over 450. Seems slightly misleading.

Svechnikov did it twice last year, how did you miss that it was everywhere for months

Forsberg also got one.

I almost put Miller there, he's been so bad at times with the turnovers...
