Even if it was safe to play the game we wouldn't have enough players to play the game. I'm assuming that at least a few of the players got covid seeing the Buffalo coach got it...

I'm really trying to avoid the politics of this. Yes the league came down on Washington, because it was posted on social media. They were way to obvious (regardless whether you agree that guys who train/celebrate/sit together on the bench should also be allowed to sit in a hotel room). My point is, nobody is perfect, cross contamination is EVERYWHERE, and if the league is to actually play a decent amount of games, eliminate the potential contaminants as quickly as possible, call up the other professionals, and let the show go on. The NHL has done a great job in dealing with this situation, and if the players don't want another "bubble" situation, they had better find a way to make this work. I think AHL players should be rewarded for their quarantine dedication, and teams that don't take it as serious, or are simply dealt an unprecedented outbreak may have to dig deep and see what their depth players can do. Otherwise why even have an NHL season. Every team has guys in the system that can fill out a roster.

But its not just about being able to fill out a roster. They have a taxi squad so that teams can cover small problems. But if you have to dig deeper than that, its probably just best to put a pause on the season to ensure everyone's safety. That's why Blackwood, Zajac, and and Palmieri going on the list didn't cancel any games. And that's on top of it being practically impossible to have an AHL season if you'd have whole teams called up and the logistics of it all would be a nightmare and super costly for an inferior product.

I demand that the league make us forfeit all these games. All these zero point games come in handy at lotto time.

So, just thinking. 17 players on the list. God willing they all get well quickly. But what type of team are we fielding upon their return? That’s a lot of players to all come back from IR at the same time. Sure that’s never happened. Could be rough(er).

He returned home to quarantine for 14 days, and is waiting for his work visa. After all that gets worked out he'll join Bingo if the OHL season hasn't started yet

Boy, I know the product has been suspect at times, but I really miss Devils hockey. Hope we play again soon

Our game Tuesday has been postponed and our schedule has been reworked with 13 games rescheduled. As of now, Thursday and Saturday against Philly are still on, so that would be our first games back

This is so boring. Good thing we’re getting plenty of snow to keep us busy.

Wonder if the league is going to turn a blind eye to this. Makes you even wonder if it was intentional, trying to get a leg up on Buffalo ahead in the standings. NJ knows they don’t have a chance this year - why not take out someone who has a chance, Tonya Harding esq?
Washington paid the price, never got a break. NJ seems to get a good coddled here and there, wonder what they have on Bettman.

Seems like its gonna be even longer. LeBrun tweeting that it sounds like more postponements are coming for thr Devils, Sabres, and Wild

EDIT: According to Masisak, the Devils next 3 games have been postponed, which would be Thursday/Saturday against Philly and next Monday against Boston
