Yup, he will be a good fit, whatever line he starts out on.

Maybe but Miller has a lot of assists for other teams.
- Marwood

Yes, I think he's got more unpressured turn overs in high danger areas then any other player on the team. He's been atrocious with the puck in our end, should have tried trading him for Laine

I actually like the baseball-style schedule and wouldn't mind seeing it play out in a post-pandemic world, but I think the division-only play really makes it tough to look at the standings and assess a team's worth. The North Division is definitely one of the tougher divisions along with the East, in my view

I don't actually like it.

The sad thing is, only 2 of 4 lines are good along the boards, Bo's line and the 3rd line of Beagle, Motte and whoever.
The 4th line of Sutter Gaudette, Jake etc are pretty bad and Miller is the only one who can consistently win board battles on the top offensive line.

This team needs more horses, not ponies.

I like it, sans the 9-10 games against one team, and would like to see them incorporate it more into the schedule... especially with an eye to the emissions teams put out traveling around for one offs against teams.

It would mostly be used against teams in your own division . So lets say we play Edmonton three times to open the season and then don't get to see McD and Drai the rest of the year seeing the next two games are played in EDM.

If one team starts hot while the other is just crawling out of the gates then the series is pretty well over and has put one team at a disadvantage.

We play teams in our division 5 times? No need to see them all in one shot.

Food bank.

For those not familiar how easy it is to donate to food bank, at every Safeway cashier there is a 2 dollar donation card with a bar code attached to a coiled plastic string . You say to the cashier can you scan that also and a two dollar donation is automatically made. We usually go to Safeway three times a week and it was an easy habit to get use to.

It's really admirable that you donate to several causes (no sarcasm) and I've admired that you regularly donate to several causes. Good on ya for looking out for the community!

...But I would caution you away from donating like this. I know you donate directly to causes so I would say continue with that.

Why do I feel this way? Corporations collect money from their customers (like your example with Safeway) in the name of "charity." They do give the money but then collect the tax deduction.

Basically, they are collecting their customers' donations and getting the tax credit for them. Simply put, they are getting tax credits and goodwill ("Safeway donates money to the foodbank") for donating other peoples' money.

I don't mind it either.
A few years back I think it was Linden who requested that, anytime they travel to New York, they should be playing all 3 teams there, Rangers, islanders and Devils.
The league has been pretty bad at looking at this type of scheduling. If they require back to back, have them play the sameme team for those games, without traveling.
Usually they claim arena availability as the reason though.

👍
I was looking around for this,to post about this concern.

Another one that I find a problem, is Salvation Army, where the clothes donations get sifted through by the paid staff. I have caught one of the workers wearing several piece of clothing that I had donated, under the false pretenses that it would get to someone who needs it.
So,I no longer donate to that cause and have found other causes to donate to.

Appreciate that.

Most of our donations are direct to the Philippines. I have gotten to know most of the people in the barrio . They contact me directly and say Uncle we need rice this month or can you send a little for this or that. Surprisingly they are not asking for a lot ,they mostly just want to survive . My wife's son and our grandkids live there so they give us a good idea of who needs what. We are lucky that way we know every penny gets used as it should.

I do appreciate the advice . I keep away from Canada Plan and organizations after I heard how much their employees get . It is unreal of how much of an actual dollar goes towards the actual people that need it.

Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand are just killer draft picks, man alive, Bergeron is 35 years old and he's third in NHL scoring, the guy just keeps producing year after year.....God I hate the Bruins
- Pacificgem

how good would he be/have been without the concussion issues early in his career?

there was a time early in his career when he was being considered a rival to crosby. the concussions de-railed him for a bit. i've always liked him and his game. fcuk the rest of the bruins and the organization though.

I also hate how some grocery stores will "allow you" to donate canned goods you've just bought - they'll have a box by the exit.

So you want to take the profit on the jar of peanut butter I just bought from you, before I give it to charity?

not only do they want your money from the profit on the peanut butter but they want your money in the tax credit they'll get.

you're donating three times! once to the charity, once to the corporation on the profit on the peanut butter and then once again to the corporation through your tax money that goes to funding the tax credit.
