or hey, if you have an exemption and know that businesses require masks, perhaps you should have your exemption card not your phone camera waiting.
but hey... i think she has a political exemption not a medical one. - RealityChecker
lol I guess you make a point but it could have been handled differently. Would it have mattered if she showed here exemption card? the 17 year old was already freaking out...in that case MNGT should be called over to handle it. I'm not condoning the way the adult handled it...but the 17 year old sure wasn't helping matter s lol.
ok - I'm trying to stick to Hockey for Makita and Carol...
Leafs or Nucks tonight? I'm going too bet.... |

Not sure what a superfecta is . I went to a racetrack once bet two dollars only and that was it. Was fun watching the horses they were beautiful . It was some place in NY . Syracuse I think.
Good enjoyment but never went back. - VANTEL
Superfecta is where you pick all 4 horses in row in the proper finishing order 1-2-3-4. Very tough to do but can pay gangbusters when you hit one lol |

a private company should be allowed to set reasonable standards for people who enter their store.
that is provided that they do not discriminate based on defined charter grounds.
disallowing non-masked persons (whether they have an exemption or not) should be allowed by private companies. this is not discrimination in a legal sense.
the company has the right to take the health considerations of its staff and customers as a whole when writing safety standards.
conversely, if her (or anyone's) health is so affected by a mask that it endangers their safety, perhaps they shouldn't be out in public with an airborne virus going on. simply put, they can shop online and have it delivered or have someone shop for them.
this was a political stunt and i'd bet the medical exemption is provided by a politically likeminded MD.
i'm picking the leafs by +2 goals. yeeeeesh, they are playing badly. but this is the canucks we're talking about. they'll probably go on a run and just when we think they've turned the corner, boom the bottom will fall out. |

I don't have a problem with Albertan's, I have a problem when they come here and disrespect the rules, it's a common occurrence here. It's also not surprising you're siding with the Karen in that video. - VanHockeyGuy
Don't assume. Not 'siding' with anyone just pointing out the fact she had a mask exemption and doctors note. Sure like RC said she probably shouldn't have plowed her phone in that kids face but it's also good to show how ridiculous this current situation is. Regardless of the political fence you are one it's not shocking you only have the ability to see one side of it. You make it sound like BC'ers never come to AB and fudge the rules lol... |

Don't assume. It works both ways, if BC people come to ALB and act like jackasses, they deserve what they get as well.

As does the individual. We have a female at work with severe asthma and she had mask exemptions and doctors notes for work and out in public. We respect that. Politically like minded MD I like that lol...of course a way out. Health considerations go both ways. But so many can't see both side of it. |

i'd talk to the decision makers. i know that you work in the public sector so their considerations are a little different than for a private business.
but i really would talk to the people who allow her to work out in the public.
the employer (government) can try to accommodate the disability but also mitigate the risk to other staff/patrons.
just because she can't wear a mask, doesn't mean that she has to be out in public. and just because she has an exemption doesn't mean that she doesn't have to make any accommodation as well. she should have been given a job away from the public/others. she'll still be able to work but the health and safety measures would help mitigate the risk. |

A fair statement from JPat

"I truly want to believe the management group of the #Canucks had a plan in place ahead of free agency. But I sure don’t think that the plan was to let every pending UFA to walk away & then start scrambling to save face.
'Running out of time' doesn't wash with me"
