I don't think they are any further ahead than us and I definitely don't think they are going to be a threat.

Again...you're totally missing the point because you just don't want to agree, it's not an "us vs them" scenario. It's simply shows how coaching can influence how a team performs.

It's not something we don't already know, I was just putting an example of it to paper, sort of speaking.

Yes, yes, let the hate flow.

I just made a grilled cheese with local lonza sandwich.

Mayo/Sriracha and gouda on the inside on Vancouver Island harvest roast, buttered one side with bacon fat, the other with unsalted butter.

When you got Jordie Benn as Quinn Hughes partner in Jim Benning’s 7th year, you probably didn’t build a playoff calibre defense. It’s really as simple as that. And this is coming from the biggest homer on twitter.

I’d argue Benn deserves a better partner

Love grill cheese...however I use classic white Wonder Bread, or whatever's on the counter, with whatever butter's in the butter dish and two slices of Armstrong 1902 medium cheddar

Islanders with going for drafting and the long rebuild even with their upgrade to a new coach last year comparrison to the Canucks.

Islander ended up with 80 pts in 68 games with a -1 GF/GA. They were sixth in their division and out of a playoff spot when the league shut down. They were ninth in the conference.

Canucks ended up with 79 points in 69 games (one point less than Islanders) with a +11 GA/GF . They were fourth in their division and 8th in their conference .

So even with the coaching upgrade and long tanking ended up with one more point than us .

Warmed up with My Chem - Honey, this mirror isn't big enough for the two of us, and Vampires would never hurt you. Mostly because my 12 year old Daughter is trying to learn the Bass and wants me to learn them.

Then, Ozzy - Over the Mountain, Flying High, and Believer. For a couple of really good guitar players I jam with a couple of times a month.

Break time for a drink, catch my breath, and to check in here.

Up next, Tool - Stinkfist, Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy Name and Number of the Beast. For the aforementioned guitarists. I don't really have to practice the rest of the stuff we jam. It's a lot of cheezy Priest and AC/DC. Some originals.

After this I sometimes mix in some bands I enjoy listening to or Drummers I like randomly.

Then some free drumming for myself. I'm a pretty sweaty mess by the end of it.

Usually takes 45 minutes to a bit over an hour.

Montreal is going to win again tonight, but don't worry, you'll fill the net and take at least 2 of 3 from the Leafs.

I'll bite.

Burrows 4x2m
Erhoff
Luongo resign was worth it until the rules changed, not his fault.

He was the best, most successful gm in our history, everything was great about him except drafting.

He resigned all his players to great term and money. He won us not one but two presidents trophies and a game 7 final.

He traded bust goalie for the best 10ov draft pick which he used on our current captain as well as finding elite unrated players like Tanev.

Created a winning culture that attracted top end free agents like hamhuis and Manny. Turned AV from a mediocre defence coach into a perennial jack Adam's candidate and winner.

Best GM ever, we don't need to worry about drafting anymore, the cupboards are full, it's time to bring in a gm wood not afraid to trade all our draft picks for UFA stars and to take us over the line for another presidents cup!

Now the time before Benning handcuffs us with more high end drafted talent that were gonna need to overpay to retain.

It's Gillis time!

- Pres.cup

It's funny reading these posts from people. Quinn easily >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Gillis. Gillis didn't build anything, he redecorated. He didn't turn AV into a great coach, he kept him on after taking over and AV did the rest. Gillis got destroyed on more deals than he won. The Burrows contract was done after one good year with the twins, and multiple years of being a 3rd liner. He signed for the going rate at the time. Again, Miller trade easily trumps Erholf. Luongo was a really good abuse of a system that caused the league to punish him for it. He gets ZERO credit for Hamhuis, that signing wasn't because of a winning team, it was because he wanted to come home. If you take a look at our standings, we already had a winning culture before he took over. Only missing twice in the 8 years prior to Gillis coming on and finishing 1st and 2nd in the division most of it.

https://en.wikipedia.org/...Vancouver_Canucks_seasons

Gillis was good with the cap, was decent at trading and terrible at drafting. He didn't create anything in Vancouver while he was here.

On the flip side, JB is good at drafting, decent with trades and bad with the cap.

We need someone who is good at all 3 aspects of being a GM, not just one.
