The team is technically better except for Markstrom. I was expecting more and am very disappointed in the effort level of defending. Something must be off maybe they have tuned Green out or whatever...
Jeez I mean 6-7 GPG? Sure Marky stole some games for us last year and kept some goals down but he sure ain't ripping it up in CGY either. Tanev is back to his regular self there too.
Demko and Holtby need to step up and focus. I blame the D too but f*uck me make a timely save FFS. As I said yesterday there has to be unresolved sh!t between the D and the goalies neither have confidence in each other...I mean wow how many times do we need to see Edler on his knees playing goal??

Goaltending is not the issue.

The Van media narratives are getting pretty old. Guys come and go all the time and no one has ever lost sleep over it. Now that some guys are doing good somewhere else, it's the end of the world.
JB hast got to think about the long term and we all know that Canucks media aren't writing about long term, they thinking game by game.
If JB did sign them and they sucked the same way the rest of the team is, you would be hearing how much of a mistake it was to sign them.
Vrbata was such a great signing after 1 year and the 2nd year couldn't get rid of him fast enough. - manvanfan
It’s not that he didn’t sign them and they’re doing well elsewhere, it’s the context of why he wasn’t able to sign them, that they wanted to be here, and they felt disrespected by JB. And then for him to come out and basically admit he blundered the whole thing, it’s not good PR when the team is sucking ass and he’s potentially in the hot seat.
I don’t think anyone blames JB for not giving these guys those long term contracts, but not finding ways to keep them shorter/the team competitive because of his other bungled situation. |

Can you imagine the national sports media if Benning fires Travis Green, he's a media darling (Green), they'll go on about how this wreaks of desperation on Benning's part....the organization is once again in a self-inflicted mess |

Green said the team looked tired, you can only play that card so many times.

But did they?
Again Markstrom and Tanev were offered fair contracts but they chose to leave for a few years term and an extra 500K lol. I'm glad they aren't signed long term here either but I can see why JB let them walk. Team invested a lot in those two players and they leave for 500K really? Bye...lol
Toffoli openly stated that he wanted to stay and letting Tanev/Markstrom walk I thought JB woulds sign him but we're better off without him too long term.
It will get fixed but is firing Green right now the answer?

Hopefully Carol has a desalinization machine because man is it salty in here.
Everyone knows that the Leafs have the firepower to score in bunches (admitting it is another thing)
Everyone knows that the Canucks defensive structure is hanging by a thread and that goaltending has to be great to give them a chance to win.
How is anyone surprised by that game? Just sit back, relax, enjoy that there is actual hockey to watch. Accept that Benning is a genius (an evil one perhaps) and that the team will be right there with the contenders in three more years. |

nah, man. if you've been a fan of this team for more than a minute, this type of season and "feeling" should feel normal.
i'm comforted by the team. in a world full of chaos, i'm glad the canucks provide me with a comforting reassurance that some things will always be the same. |

Van's Yekaterinburg prospect just scored another goal. 2 goals in 5 games so far in the KHL this season. The next Datsyuk is learning from the actual Datsyuk
Make that 3 goals in 5 games now. - manvanfan
Is he still Canucks property or did they let him walk?

I actually feel a bit bad for Green in this situation. Without an extension, he's coaching for the "now" and probably making some decisions out of desperation for wins. Miller deserved to be benched last night and off the late powerplays, but you know he's one of the best options to score (which he did) and try to make the score look respectable. Its only going to get more toxic if this organization can't get poop straight |

Let's trade Boeser.
I wonder if Mont would trade that 3rd line winger Tyler something for him... |

Calgary are struggling out of the gate also. They have won 4 games and lost 6 .Two of their four wins were against Canucks. |
