I don't disagree, the coaching selection hasn't been great the last couple tries (even though I love Torts ). That being said, I think you have to extend a coach before his final year. It just puts the whole dynamic in a weird place - WhiteLie
I am guessing only but I don't think they were not sold on Travis when the season began and wanted to see if he is the guy long term. |

I really don't know. I thought they were a happy group . They said they liked him but who knows what goes on behind closed doors.

How is that working out for him now? The entire city his calling for his termination.
His next team? What other team do you think would be willing to open up their wallets to pay him big money? - VANTEL
The narrative changes day to day with the media and fans to suit whatever story they are spinning that day. 2 months ago Green was regarded highly by everyone. Sometime in the future, Green will have a new contract as an NHL head coach and hopefully with a GM who can provide a decent lineup/manage finances. |

Hard to keep making saves when the odd man rushes and break aways are between 10-15 every game. It’s honestly hard to watch. It’s a combination of things going wrong, but this new defence we were all hopeful for is not panning out. - neem55

My guess during the pause and eventual offseason was that it was more of a financial disagreement than philosophical, but either way I hate waffling. Green's been part of the organization since 2013, it shouldn't come down to 4 months (I know there is more nuance to it, but still a peeve of mine) |

Green was very vocal with Benning . He basically said to Benning he needed Beagle Roussel and Schaller. This year he asked for Hamonic.

I get it.
I admit I have mostly been on the fence with him. I have been pulling for the guy but I have said a few times I think he has maxed out with what he can teach.
I think he did a good job of bringing out of the Willie D days .
My problem is more with the entire coaching staff . I see bad styles and as someone pointed out last night a PP that was successful in 2011.

This was a good article about the Habs situation but mostly Danault. He is currently their first line center and reportedly turned down 6 years @5 mil per in Sept by the Habs. He said he wanted a fair offer.
With all the contracts Habs took on this year they have maybe painted themselves into a corner. They are going to lose a key player or two in this offseason and Price and Weber are a year older .

I don't doubt that Hughes and Petey will get better but the PP still sucks IMO

lol true but it will come around. What sucks about playing the same 6 teams all year is they can study the video and figure out how to defend it. Team needs to get creative and think outside the box a bit playing the same teams all year. |

I really liked the PP unit they tried with Miller out.
Hughes
Pettersson Horvat Boeser
Hoglander
Sidewall guys available for one-timers, Horvat ready for the bumper role, and Hoglander (who's hand-eye has really impressed me) down low and net front for deflections, low passing, and chasing down loose pucks. The puck movement is too slow when they go to Miller on his strong side |

It's a nice change with the elements Hogs brings...but ultimately Miller should be on PP1. He's off a bit now but it will come. |

Yet we have more wins
The funny thing is also if Holtby and Schmidt continue to suck one of them will be gone in the E draft. |

It’s not that he didn’t sign them and they’re doing well elsewhere, it’s the context of why he wasn’t able to sign them, that they wanted to be here, and they felt disrespected by JB. And then for him to come out and basically admit he blundered the whole thing, it’s not good PR when the team is sucking ass and he’s potentially in the hot seat.
I don’t think anyone blames JB for not giving these guys those long term contracts, but not finding ways to keep them shorter/the team competitive because of his other bungled situation. - NewYorkNuck
If Toffoli really wanted to stay, why wouldn't he take a one year deal or something or wait for more than 3 days. |
