if "they"/frankie wants to make a change, make a change. don't half-ass it with "interims." have a plan that shows you know what you're doing rather than change for the sake of change mid-season.
having said that, if they feel like a change is going to happen at the end of the season, what do you do about the TDL? do you give JB free reign... especially when everyone including him knows his job is in jeopardy?
these are big boy decisions. - RealityChecker
I think this is going to be a quiet TDL for most teams. With the quarantine and flat cap I don't think it will be active.
I also question the value of the picks acquired by teams because of the cancellation of tournaments and shortened seasons.
I think capspace will be more valuable than second round picks next year.

If there is a new GM coming in his job will be pretty easy. GMs are usually given a year to sit back and get a feel for things . Fifteen mil come off the books for them with Beags Rous Luong Recapture and Loui gone . They will also have the main core is also signed.
I definitely think the coaching and staff need to go and am not in a hurry to see Benning go. If he does go oh well. - VANTEL
this is why it's a perfect time for a change in management.
with all the deadweight coming off, let's get a cap manager who is better at pro-scouting.

i disagree.
while this year hasn't been great for anyone especially kids who need development (and scouts who need to watch them play), there is always talent in every draft.

I can see the top players (top 5-10) being set but look how many mistakes are made most years in a regular draft in the first round. Most mock redrafts look nothing like the real draft. I think there is going to be a lost of guessing this year .

yeah, i see where you're coming from.
i just think that the variation that we see in rankings from the start of the year to the end will be less this year. i think that teams/scouts will lean more on their longer term scouting (most of these guys have been scouted for years.)
will this make things better or worse in terms of projections? who knows but i'm of the opinion that this will probably be like most seasons. hits and misses. i'd still like to have as many picks as possible.

It's not time to let Benning go...if at all. Green doesn't have long however but like Carol suggested moves will probably not be made this odd year. Aquilini will most likely let Benning finish trying to build what he started here. Lots of great pieces in place just need to round it out.

I agree. I think that they thought that they would just pick up where they left off in the bubble without the work being put in. The one thing I have noticed is they aren't being hemmed in their own end for extended periods of time. They quite simply are doing an awful job of managing the puck, they are throwing it up the middle a lot(a lot at their blue line which make no sense). If they limit turnovers they should be able to right the ship. They are scoring still, so with proper recognition the coaching staff should be able to get them to manage the puck better. There are many opinions on here as to whether this coaching staff can do that.

I don't mind losing , it is the way they are losing that bothers me. They are playing like a bad junior team at times. Basic fundamental hockey , like last man back don't try to skate around a defender with the puck, or not to pass the puck in the middle of the ice with a man two feet away waiting for you to make that pass.
I don't think the coach and his staff have the team prepared.
I've been passionately critical of JB's off-season moves for a while, but I think I've resigned to the feeling of most of this forum now where this season is a joke anyway, so who cares. Who wants to win their first cup and it be a covid cup ... same reason I wasn't sad we didn't win last year. Tampa was the perfect win, they have another to fall back on. I don't want to hear for the next 50 years that our only cup is an asterisk.

100% correct. The scoring is there just need to manage a few details. I had a feeling Holtby wouldn't warm to Ian Clarke's teaching right away but I think Demko is showing signs of coming around. Contrary to the goaltenders splitting the duties I fully believe they have Demko as the #1 from seasons start. They'll get there.

Agreed it's tough to watch at times especially when you see some of the effort level of other clubs. But I expected some rough patches with Gaudette, ZacMac, Chatfield and a few other inexperienced kids dressed. Didn't want LE in the lineup either but he is defensively responsible. Maybe it's time? lol

I think this might be the last year for Gaudette. I don't want Loui.

Ya Gaudette is playing his way into a trade chip. All that salary tied up with LE and Sven you don't think we will see them at some point? injuries? - LordHumungous

Sven will probably stay with Lind all year.
What do you think you would get for Gaudette? I think he will be like Stecher and Hutton and not qualified.
