Sven will probably stay with Lind all year.
What do you think you would get for Gaudette? I think he will be like Stecher and Hutton and not qualified. - VANTEL

I love this headline in the Province from today, Classic JB:
Canucks GM Jim Benning ‘kind of ran out of time,’ couldn’t move money to keep Tyler Toffoli

Haha awesome. He's obviously brought us good players. He deserves accolades for that no doubt. But his asset management is dreadful.
Lots of examples including players he could have moved while canucks weren't close to winning.
Magnifying glass of course on toffoli but to me the worst part is the assets he gave up, which lends to not being just a rental. See if it's a good fit, if not potentially best course of action is it becomes a rental. But it was an amazing fit, and he didn't find a way to get it done which is a failure. |

JB should be banned from making deals with any team in the 'Scotiabank' North. They wouldn't be able to haunt us at least.

Thanks Carol!
If they can keep it 5v5 I think we have a chance tonight (and in the series). Canucks tend to do well in the quicker paced less physical games.

For me, it is not about re-signing Toffoli, it is about missed opportunities.
They had 3 or 4 decent free-agents, that all signed elsewhere, yet they, Benning and company, couldn't even get a late puck for the rights to anyone of those guys, who are all still good players.
How did Carolina mange to get a 5th rounder for a guy like Edmondson and Benning couldn't acquire his rights to Edmondson, who, I think, is the type of defender this team needs, badly.
But know, he gives up a 3rd round pick to acquire a player that Vegas badly wanted gone and costs almost 6 million per year.
Edmondson can fetch a 5th for his negotiating rights, but, Markstrom, who is a pretty good goalie, Tanev, who is a good defensive defenseman and Toffoli, get you absolutely nothing.
It is sad, how poorly Benning manages, and I have been pretty neutral on Benning because I always like to see a GM given 6 years to get a plan in place.
In my opinion, Benning has failed and badly. |

If you guys want to keep Benning because of his drafting then let's move him to President and get a real GM. This will give Benning more time to scout himself and get him out of trades and signings. |

For the record, Gerard Gallant lives in Clinton PEI, if he were to be hired he wouldn’t be required to isolate IF he’s showing no flu like symptoms. He can fly inter-provincially for business purposes, which is deemed essential travel within Canada.

Terrible idea, the man has no business sense whatsoever. You don’t put a guy with a grade 10 education in charge of an 800 million dollar business. |

his interview (and all reports from the offseason) revealed that hes got terrible time management skills, multitasking skills, or both. i dont care about toffoli or the flames none are the future but its frustrating to know your ships captain cant keep tabs on a variety of things. he cleaned house years ago to streamline things when obviouisly he needed those extra people in the office helping manage things. clueless |

Terrible idea for a lot of reasons.
You would be taking the drafting out of the new GMs hand . Chris Gear does contracts and Cap not Benning he just rubber stamps them. You are promoting a person to president that you think is an idiot. There was just so much wrong with that post. |

Malhotra was 1 of 2 good coaches the Canucks had. Ian Clark being the other. |

They attribute their power play to him. Leading the league at 40%.
Maybe Green should have got rid of Brown and kept Malholtra. |

After reviewing the Canucks management dire tory, I have seen the errors in my thoughts and now realize that the real problem lies with;
David Whitworth director of restaurants
Robert Bartley Executive Chef
And
Dana Clark Vice-President-People.
