On a positive note, Hughes is not in the negative, yet. |

No doubt it has been bad hockey to date unfortunately. The players are going to have to battle through the fatigue as the season is already on life support due to the poor start.
With that being said context is always required. I still think the players are going to figure it out and the Canucks are going to slip into the playoffs...then the real season begins and they will do well.
Context - Canucks vs. the schedule (including tonights game):
15 games in 25 days
15 game days and 10 off days
2 - 7 on the road (9 games)
4 - 2 at home (6 games)
Leafs for comparison:
12 games in 25 days
12 game days 13 off days
4 - 1 - 1 on the road
5 - 1 at home
Back to backs left this season as of Feb 6:
Canucks = 3 left
Calgary = 8 left
Edmonton = 9 left
Leafs = 7 left
Canadians = 7 left
Ottawa = 9 left
Jets = 6 left
At this point the Canucks need to survive, pull up their panties and dig deep. If they can stabilize, they will be in a good position to pick up some ground as the season progresses. |

The stat sheet say that Hughes played 371 minutes vs elite competition and Edler played 363 - manvanfan
Regardless Edler is awful and he needs to retire |

Edler is big, slow and physical. Hughes is small, fast and soft. Maybe Canucks should focus on some players in-between the two. |

It’s like Nintendo ice hockey. Canucks have only fat slow players or skinny p$ssies. They need some average players |

After tonight the Canucks will need to go roughly 25-15-1 to have a chance at the playoffs. |
