Benning needs to make a hockey trade or two. Get some players that fit Green's system better.

18 yr old Sam Bennett?

j/k.

Hey, he's bringing in a 6'4 speedy winger and a 'defensive specialist' today.

To be fair, I've probably filled my quota for monthly posts in one day anyway. Kids are napping, wife is at work, dogs are sleeping, and this 6 pack of blue buck is going down so easy

Enjoy the game tonight fellas.

Over/Under for Bailey today is probably 7 minutes.

I actually don't hate green as much as the green haters do. I like how he constructs his lines for thr most part, and how he gives opportunities, like you said. I dont care for his deployments, or how many minutes he gives to his bottom 6 in comparison with the rest of the league, but it is what it is.

Hoglander is a bright light on what has been a mediocre-bad beginning to the season, seeing him moved to the 3rd line for LE, where line 2 has actually been the most consistent line all year seems silly to me is all.

Hog should be moved to line 1 if Loui is taking his spot

Hoglander-Pettersson-Boeser is pretty soft.
I wouldn't demote Boeser myself.

I don't think it's a big deal to put a rookie on a 3rd line and in a different situation, but that's just me.

Just demote Sutter to the Taxi squad and have Miller play 3rd line center and then we won't have to worry about who is forced to player with Sutter.

So how long does Hoglander stay on the 3rd line? 2 shifts. I'll either be happy with a win or get another good laugh at a disaster loss,

On 650 they were talking about how no experienced GM would work for FA. The one that fit the best was none other then Gillis.

So... JB out and MG in at the end of the season due to bad signings of veteran players which handcuffed the team. FA is pissed about JB saying that they ran out of time to move salary which he'd signed in the first place.

The other interesting thing was Toffoli had originally asked for 5.25 from the Canucks before settling for 4.25 from Montreal.

The team sucks, but do they deserve to sit any more than Beagle, roussel, sutter, motte, miller, hughes? Macewen has shown more fight than 90% of the roster.

Beagle and Roussel should be sitting

I don't think TG is a terrible coach – he brings a lot of positives to the team, but I just think he hasn't rounded the corner yet with his style of play and ability. I think he'll get there, but it'll take a break away (firing) to sit back and reconsider like Dallas Eakins. I think his biggest failing is having the same assistants for this long. Having veteran, savvy guys beside him would help a lot more, I think. Especially with the D. Just hate whatever Baumer is doing back there.

I didn't watch much of the last game, so i can't comment on who should be sitting or not.
But given that 2/3 of the 3rd line is being replaced today, and taking into account the score, i'm guessing Green didn't like what he saw and wanted some stronger defensive play today.

I hate the LE is playing (was actually hoping we wouldn't see him the whole year) but am fine to give Baily a shot.

100% agree. But at what point do you hold him to a higher defensive standard. The team has let in 55 goals in 14 games, he's minus 10 and has played awful in his own zone. I guess I'm just of the mentality that no player should be exempt from poor play.
- Codes1087

Just imagine how much worse that +/- would look if not for his point production.

Drance suggesting that Mtl was the only team willing to go 4 years. I’m glad they didn’t sign him, I wish they hadn’t traded for him, he would have been new Beagle.

The comparable this team has to when he first took over the job are multi fold.... hopefully JB would take a role running the scouts and the draft. Let gilles handle free agency, resigning and trades. Bring in TL to pick the coach and be president.
I was not a fan of firing TL and keeping JB. I don't hate Benning but he is now the longest tenured gm in Canucks history, time to kick him to the curb. Also the Roussel, Beagle signings were what caused TL to get canned, looked like Trevor was right.

Tldr JB is longest tenured Gm, fire him.

Can it get much worse?? What's his 5v5 point production vs his special teams?
