I don't think it's Lafreniere's fault he doesn't have a few assists, he's made some nice setups where the shooter blew it |

Yeah but I would be worried about tiring him out. Schedule is pretty packed. He should definitely play tonight though. - mdw7413
I can see Georgie playing because of his record against the Islanders |

Yeah, I'm starting to see a bit more from him where he is looking a lot more comfortable. Its going to come. I think him and a lot of other players feed off of crowds. Not an excuse but there is some merit too it. |

This notion that he is good against the isles is almost superstition level thinking and i can't justify making a coaching call based on that now. For the first game of the season, fine, since neither goalie had played yet. But now that Shesty is playing well i can't come up with one good reason to not play him |

He also was the poster boy for bad luck during that couple game stretch. He got robbed a handful of time. If those goals go in, he's on the home page of NHL.com every game we play.
I haven't watched much of Stutzle, but I'm perfectly fine with how Laf is playing. Thinking that we should have taken Stutzle over Laf is just monday morning quarterbacking on an EXTREMELY small sample size and based on a couple of goals. |

Like believing Sergie Samsanov was better than Jumbo Joe because of their first years.

Well he has beat the isles 6 out of the last 7 times he faced them, doesn't seem superstitious. Just a fact.
Like it or not Georgie is going to play games. Why not give him games where he has had success? |

Agree and disagree. Why would a goalie be better against one team than another? Now that it is something we focus on I could see it working against Georgi, trying to live up to the expectation. If the scenario was neither goalie seemed to be performing better than the other, go ahead and play the one with the better track record against a team since there isn't much else to go on. But in this case i'd say that you have to go with the hot hand |

Yeah, I mean I don't disagree. Shesty had a great last two games he played. I personally would go with him. But if Quinn is going to use Georgie this week might as well use him against a team he has played well against. I think the Rangers are playing every other day this whole week, no matter what, you have to think Georgie is getting into 1 of those games. I don't have the answer to why he plays the Isles so well, but his record says he does over the last 3 years. |

I tend to agree with you in most scenarios. This one is a bit different though. Georgiev does need to to get some playing time throughout the season, and why not play him against a team that he tends to play well against? Not to mention, they're coming off a decent stretch of off days. Kind of dampens the hot hand, no? |
