Get your spidey senses going guys. That scratch is very strange. It could be nothing. Maybe late to a meeting, but the first thing anyone thinks of is potential trade. I don’t know who, what for or where or if. Just keep your ears to the ground - Jeremy Laura
Mantha must've stolen Blashill's Tony Robbins CD's. |

I keep meaning to post this, just crazy times. Pettruzelli has been on FIRE. He’s up for the Hobey Baker. There was a lot of buzz when we drafted him. May be developing well |

J, if they trade Mantha, the return will have to be something of Biblical proportions. There’s nothing I can think of that would justify trading him. |

I’m in the same boat. The healthy scratch was likely a learning experience, but it’s a weird one. Whenever Yzerman works a deal, its out of left field. Just trying to stay open to something unexpected |

Listen, even if we got ALL of them, it still wouldn’t replace Mantha. I’m sorry, but a trade like that cannot be justified..... |

Virtanen and who else????? The haul would need to be massive, NOT just Virtanen. |

This is one of the Blahhell head-scratchers. If it’s “motivational”, I just can’t justify it. If anything, I would opine it’d be due to some sort of conduct or personal issue. Maybe an ultra-sound because he’s gonna be a Daddy!!!
Now, no matter your status as a player/leader, you still need to comport yourself appropriately, so that could be a reason. But to sit him v Frans N Fil?!?!?!? If that’s the reason, Blahhell should just quit so we can give the interim tag to Bylsma & move on from the debacle of leadership that is Blahhell. |

This is what really had me shaking my head. Until we find out more there’s no telling. For potential fits, it’d have to be a team in need of scoring with a really healthy prospect funnel or too many D. No clue at all |

I agree. He got right to the front of the net on his goal. Battles hard. Even his shot that led to an assist was beautiful. Really torqued the stick. Threw some nice hits, good scrap |

I predicted at the end of last year after watching Givani Smith play in GR that he had the skills, size and toughness to make the leap out of GR to Detroit compared to any of their other prospects. His offensive game is much improved and he can use that long reach of his to hold onto the puck. He is exactly the type of player the Wings need.... he makes them harder to play against. He is a tenacious forechecker and will drop the gloves with anyone. Now it's finally paying dividends for the Wings... There is no excuse for this guy to be sitting on the bench... and he's made that statement today.

That’s a fair assessment. As his confidence grows he really skates well. That Fabbri goal, man his original shot was beautiful. His hit on Weeger was nice (and if that’s a penalty and Gudas isn’t, call me confused). All the taller guys have to work on skating, and he clearly has. He looks leaner and meaner. Very impressed with how he’s put it together |

Power forward Givani Smith! - HenryHockey
Hockey is better when the original 6 teams are doing well. It was great to see Det finally have a pulse. They were bent over every night last season, and they played a soft game too boot. While this likely isn't your year, you can still be a team that others dread to play. Guys like Smith are exactly what this club needs right now. |

Well put. Team pride has to be built up early. Smith brings a lot to the table |
