Yes...but...

I was a fan of Cam Neely and hated the trade for Pederson. I get the anxiety!

Cam was 21 when he was traded...not because he wasn't having an impact on the game, but because Tom Watt didn't like his defence. In his first two years in the league, Neely was -26 & -29 respectively, but he put up 39 points ('84-'85) and 34 in his 2nd year. The team was bad and the defensive problems weren't just with Neely.

In 145 games with the Canucks, Neely put up 73 points (~0.5 pts/game).

Jake has been in the league since '15-'16 (6th season) and has played 290 games, with 96 pts and ~0.33 pts/game. Not anywhere close to the same impact or progression.

What we see is what he is, without a big change. Tools, but an inability to use them. Not a current day Cam Neely.

I'd rather see someone else brought back who is motivated and has more likelihood of helping the team.

Not daily transactions . Usually every three days or so . Like today Juolevi up Loui down. It is not being done for cap space it is being done to get a taxi squad player into the line up.

If they needed cap space they could do what Boston is doing and go to a 20 man roster.
