lol but it's fun. Should we do a Burke vs Nonis thread??
Anyway you ever listen to that American Rock band RIOT? Kind of like a poor mans Aerosmith... reminds me a bit of the CDN band Anvil that never really made it big but were pretty decent... - LordHumungous
I have not but Anvil is one of my favourite rock band stories. Anvil! The Story of Anvil is one of the best rock docs out there. They were essentially the real Spinal Tap. |

I think the pandemic helps him, so many teams in cap hell, he'll be able to bend them over. Plus be a major player in the UFA market. - Nucker101
Some good points but I think we'll see.
By now the Seattle Kraken should have a good idea of players they are targeting. This 2020-2021 season should convince them to finalize their choices as certain players see their Expansion Draft stock either rise or fall.
In all the wackiness that is a shortened season, Kraken scouts will be left asking themselves questions such as, “is this player having a down year, or is it just the shortened season?”
It will be much harder to gauge the trajectory of a prospect to build a future team.
The Vegas Golden Knights set the gold standard for putting together an Expansion team, and the Expansion Draft format will have the same rules for the Seattle Kraken...however Francis will be a little more limited on his 'back door' deals unlike McPhee.
The weird layoffs in between seasons is something Vegas, and no NHL team before it, has ever had to experience. That will make it harder for Seattle to find their diamond in the rough type of players for their first season...maybe |

Hamilton had 26 000 listenership that was understandable . Vancouver had 250 000 . I would guess salaries were not worth the numbers? I don't know .

I think they shot themselves in the foot personally. They had the better personnel but they did so much complaining they drove half their audience away. |

Yes and no. Lots of companies spend money on loss leaders. I do think BELL is an Ontario centric company.
Rogers/Sportsnet essentially did the same thing when it closed its western sports desk and just got their Toronto desk to record a segment for the west.
I think the closure was more of a human resource issue than just pure revenue issue. Managing people is a pain in the ass so less people the better. You are seeing it in every industry. |
