It's not that I don't like Torts at all just that his coaching style is going the way of the do-do. Players (especially younger ones) don't respond well to that style anymore. Believe me I see it everyday in the rink the young kids getting yelled at just tune the coaches out and do their own thing anyways lol

There are better ways to connect with the kids now than a Torts style approach IMO

First, I don't disagree that connecting with players is completely different than say 20 years ago. However I think he has a hard time shedding that reputation because his antics are very visually and happens multiple times per season. From everything I've read and heard through the grapevine is that he communicates a ton and on a personal level with each player. He's not for everyone, obviously, but there are plenty that love him for his approach

I know we all have hammered this idea but look at the schedule for Toronto. I don't need to post about our schedule again but just look at this week for Toronto. Play Van on Monday, day off, game tonight, next game Saturday. Van hasn't had more than a day off in a row until now. I think if the rest of the teams in the Canadian division start to play 4 in 6, or 3 in 4 you will see the effect of no practice and fatigue come in to play.

I was reading Helene Elliotte earlier she seems to think the league is going to slim down to 48 games now.

Have to see how many games actually get played.
It is hockey and that is still much better than no hockey.

I agree for sure, but maybe as we see some of the frontrunners have to play more games in a few days we will see some degree of regression. This schedule lends itself to Vancouver having more practice time which they need. It's not an accident to say the best game they have played was the Winnipeg game after some practice time.

Crazy schedule for sure but I think with a normal schedule the team would still be having problems. It seems they have some internal issues to figure out . There is a lot of talent and the first line of last year which was a top line in the league has been brutal at times.

All these things need to be fixed this year from style of play , toughness , the D and the pouting.

Not sure when Loui was last put on waivers, but it is probably the 30 rule rule, which has to be done, in order to shuffle him back and forth from taxi-squad to press box.

Just to add on to what you are saying and which I agree with, some of these same issues were here last season, they were just disguised better.

I think in about two weeks they can put that to bed if they continue losing. If they haven't started winning by then they should be sellers and stop thinking about extra cap to take players on.

At that same time I would send Loui to Utica.
