Game is 60 minutes long --- Rangers played well for about 50 minutes. Young team that is still coming together, overall a good learning experience for many, especially Hajek.
Unfortunately, we need points ASAP! |

Torts benched Laine for almost half the game tonite --- yeah that trade not looking very good at all. Columbus should have sent Dubois to Rangers... |

Seriously? Do you want to win games? Howden plays on the top line? Are you out of your mind? The answer is not to bench him. You bench players when they are lazy, Zibs effort is there. He just isn’t scoring this year.
This why I can’t stand Ranger fans. They say and want to do some of the dumbest things ever
Hajek cost them this game. I jinxed it earlier - Slimtj100
Think I just saw Mika was 11/13 in the dot tonight. Guess that’s one positive for him to build off of.

Zib playing his way into making it harder on the rangers resigning him.
I’ll say it again, Laf played well, but not nearly my expectations of 1st overall pick. Can’t create any offense |

Were very sensible fans Tommy We see the big picture. These are very tough losses, but I’m not “embarrassed” or wanna sit guys, I understand they’re learning. They had this game won a couple times, but Varlomov has their number. Think of these as playoff games, and the experience they get playing in them. I’d rather lose these games instead of the actual playoff games. Worst case we got another lottery pick, another prospect or use it as a trade chip
Honestly, how I luck at is if see effort and will, I’m happy, and theyre giving us that. They have some amazing players that we’ll get watch for years |

I don’t think it’s Zibs effort, i think he still has affects of covid, he looks terrible out there, out hustled, out skated, winded, knocked off his feet easily, there’s something not right with him still. I’m not saying Zib is bad, I’m saying Zib is still dealing with covid |

I really think they are developing him and Kakko the same way. Last year Kakko was terrible defensively and he looks like a completely different player now. He has been great to defensively. His offense is coming too.
We are a very impatient fanbase |

I think the lack of camp hurt, but have you ever seen the 2nd overall and 1st overall have this little impact in their first year? I know it’s going to take some time, but yeesshh |

Exactly. This is a league where younger players thrive. These top picks need to produce points and take over games. Most all time greats did out the gate |

The ones that didn’t of late, Hischer Patrick Yakupov Hughes Barkov.
You ever get the inside scoop on what happened between TDA and Georgie? PM me if u don’t want it posted publicly |

Hajek made one mistake, a bad one, which lead to a goal on a scrum in front. The second goal was gorgeous pass, and by the way, Howden led his man beat him to the front of the net. Overall, team played a pretty solid game. Varlamov was just slightly better tonight. Hard to win when your top-six does nothing. Thought PDG was solid again. Isles' fourth line was the difference. |

Howdens days are numbered, once Chytil comes back he’s out. Hopefully Seattle takes him |

I didn’t think Hajek was bad but obviously his big mistake cost us the game. He hasn’t done much to impress me though. If we lose one of Hajek/Howden/Gauthier in expansion I think we get away pretty unscathed again. |

How do you guys feel about Lafreniere so far? I know he’s young but typically a first overall with such expectations will come in and impress even in year one. I’ve only seen him play a handful of times but not at all impressed. Not a great skater. Doesn’t do much throughout the course of the night that really stands out. |

I actually thought he looked really good last night and made some good plays. He burned Pelech pretty good in one sequence and almost finished in close Pulock blocked what looked like a goal. Kid has some wheels. |

Were so fixated on this one kid, and Kakko, were neglecting the fact that outside of Panarin, no one else is scoring.
With the TDA distraction gone weve seen a much more engaged team. One that, on the defensive end, has show massively significant improvement. However, game after game, Im saying that offense looks totally out of sync. Theres little to no cycling, constant bad passes through the middle of the ice that lead to turn overs, no recognition of where your teammates are on the ice. When the top 2 lines are the same as last year when we were 7th in scoring, theres a problem. |

I am not as negative on last night's game.
Overall the hustle and work ethic is there. I am fine with rookie/young player mistakes as long as they work their butt off to correct them in the game and in practice. Sucks they lost, but I am not bitter about it because they didn't play lazy. They just made too far many mistakes with the puck that disrupted offensive flow out of the D-zone.
As for Zib. Again, he is playing better. Clearly getting scoring chances as compared to the start of the season where he looked like he was constantly on ludes. He is now in a rut/slump/dry spell. With the chances, I believe he will break out of it. HOWEVER, I do believe the regression is real. I think last season Zib will not be the norm.
All in all, the Rangers did look like a team yesterday compared to the start of the season. |

I think his skating is better than expected tbh. Keeps up with the play. However for where he was selected I haven’t seen enough flashes of elite skill at all yet. Maybe that changes over the course of the year |

Exactly. Can’t win every game. They need to retool the offense a bit, but can’t be too upset with a strong effort. My expectations were high coming into the season, but it’s clear there’s going to be bumps along the way. |
