The Jets are hands down the best team in the North. We have come from one of the most challenging divisions, The Central. From my perspective, this division should be a cakewalk for the Jets. - TheUltimateJet
The Jets are the best team in the North...
Clearly they are not. Yes they came from the better division, I'll give you that. The Jets have had one of the easier schedules to begin the year. The only decent team they have a win against this year is the Flames, and the Flames have been mediocre up to this point. |

We need to work on our faceoffs.
Only Stastny is above 50%. |

Jets are a playoff team. Until we beat the teams ahead of us, the jury is still out on being the top team.

Keep laughing. I will wave into the camera just at you Nodwell17, when this team is celebrating our first Stanley Cup win this year! I will even shout out your name.

A friend of mine recommended that we look at goalie save percentages, especially in the mighty North division.
You will notice that only two starters have over a 900 save %. One being Hellebyuck and the other, Markstrom. |

I don't think any team is hands down the best.
There is no Tampa like dominant team.
We will see where you end up after 56 games. My guess is third |

In the entire league, yes that is very likely to occur. I cannot wait to see the one North division banner hanging at the rink!

Tampa, Vegas, Col are the top 3 teams in my opinion. Jet's don't have the same calibre D as those squads. Stanley and Forbort have done an excellent job shoring up some of the Jets deficiencies. Just need to find a guy to bump Beaulieu out of the lineup. But JoMo is no Hedman/Pietrangelo/Makar. |

I wasn't aware that there was a live stream camera in your living room?
Also, who hangs a banner for winning a division? The Predators?
Ps. I'd rather it be the Jets than any other Canadian team, but I just don't think it's in the cards.

My takeaways from that game are:
Why did PoMo break up the best line on the jets? Copp Stats Ehlers was a great combo
Copp looks great in a top 6 role
PLD looks like a beast, albeit with some rust, but I am not overly concerned
Vesalainen in the top 6? Why? He is a terrible Moose and its time to call him a bust. - bikeguy99
I actually like Vesalainen and give Maurice credit for making a move like this he rarely does. I think he might even be a decent fit on PP2.

So...apparently Laine "verbally disrespected" one of the CBJ coaches, which led to his benching. |

Some takeaways from last nights game:
-Calgary is indeed a much better team when Sam Bennett is in the lineup.
-Veslalainen is looking better every game
- Calgary's second goal was a comedy of errors by several Jets including Dubios and Stanley
- As I mentioned in previous threads, the Jets look disorganized and lack flow and finesse when gaps between games are too large.
- Morrissey is playing better and better every game
- In a few more games we will be talking a lot about Dubios's straight-line speed. A couple of Jets missed hitting him on the fly but once that is resolved it will be magic to watch. I think Wheeler should be on his line.
Calgary uses more of an umbrella-type offense which rotates from the half-boards and uses three guys high near the blue line creating a lot of movement which leads to a lot of shots from up high towards a crowded net. Two deflections led to goals last night.
Jets us a cycle that is done down low in the offensive zone with the occasional pass back up to the blue line. It leads to less shots on a crowded net-front but more passes into the slot. I think that the Calgary system overall is more preferable. Time will tell.

We must be watching different guys..... I am talking about Vesalainen, #93. Big guy with concrete skates. Thorton might be faster. With the talent on the Jets, no way does Vesalainen deserve a minute of PP time. There are plenty of other big bodies on this club that have shown much more offensive production. |

I am with jetlag for this, thought it was Vesalainen’s best game as a jet. As for second line pp, when running four forwards on pp that means he only has to be top 8 to be on second unit, he was drafted for offense and 2nd pp makes sense at this time. |

watching Josh Anderson this year, a big power forward player who is 26 and didn't break out till he was 24, reminds me we have to be patient with Vesalainen. With that that said though, he needs to be in the NHL.
I feel like he has been ok, not great but also not bad. I have though absolutely loved his increased effort. |

have you seen him shoot? his one timer is elite, he needs PP time. to be clear, I'm saying his one timer is elite, not saying his overall game is. |

honestly Heinola is probably already our best D and this coach will not play him. We have a major improvement to our D just sitting there waiting to play. |
